ALPINA has a long history in watchmaking, but this underrated brand is back with a bang with the ALPINE EXTREME REGULATOR AUTOMATIC a regulator dial sports watch with an integrated rubber strap, limited to just 888 pieces.
With a design that takes influence from iconic designs such as the AUDEMARS PIGUET ROYAL OAK and HUBLOT BIG BANG, Alpina's latest offering takes the fight to the TISSOT PRX CHRONOGRAPH, offering a retro-sport look with a complication usually only found on more expensive watches.
I was lucky enough to get hands-on with this new release from ALPINA to give you my thoughts on this interesting new release. Tell me what you think in the comments.

I am a big fan of Alpina,. I have owned 3 , the star timer automatic, the sea strong Alpina and their regulator, I kid you not this watch catches the most looks of any of my watches. the shine, the dial . It is pure class. I catch Rolex Sub owners stearing at it . not understanding how my 2000 dollar alpina looks more captivating than their 10k +Rolex. This new regulattor is in my wish list but currently way out of my budget. Alpina deserves more exposure,Almost no watch "expert" ever even mentions them .

You're right, if someone said what do you think of Alpina, before seeing this watch, I'd be like "who?". This watch is definitely going on the list of possibilities.

Great review of this watch. I've never owned a regulator watch before. But you're make it so tempting. I have owned an Alpina before (Startimer Pilot World Time) and was impressed by the world time features and the great price. At 44.5mm t was just a little too large, even for my 19cm wrist. Thanks for this review and can't wait for more!

For us spindly limbed, the lug to lug is so important.... Agree with you, the regulator dial is often underused...

I was tempted, so ordered one; which was faulty (crown didn't screw all the way down). Second one arrived a couple of weeks later , also faulty ( a screw fell out of the case back!). Have a third one on order but not sure I want it now; too many QC issues obviously - rushed to market perhaps?

That's disappointing to hear and does sound like poor QC unfortunately - and bad luck to have two with problems. My brother bought one after seeing my video and so far no issues.

Did they send you #248 of 888? Did you have to send it back? Reason I ask, is I'm interested in this watch and if at all possible, 248 is the number I would try to purchase. Thanks!

@@patrickcannady2066 it’s not better looking than a Nautilus or Royal Oak. But again that’s taste and subjective. In the end the movement in those watches are much better than the Alpiner. Either way the watch is a very nice watch but really can’t be compared on any level to the ones that inspired it. Btw of course it’s much more affordable. It’s a fairly cheap watch when compared to anything in the class of watches we are speaking about.
