From old-school Elite Ciussi cages to prototype aero bikes, Paris-Roubaix still is a showcase of interesting tech.

I liked how FACTOR indicated on the frame “No status Quo” that was great…

Was Jasper Phillipsen riding on a flat tire with an insert? He rode it for quite a long time and being able to do so might have been a big benefit

17 cm stem? Geez, I remember Cannondales at the Coors Classic in the 1980's with crazy-length stems and screwball seatposts with aluminum bar stock welded on so the seat could be shoved back far enough to fit the poor guys (Team Crest?) who had to ride 'em. Some things never change?

Very interesting Shoddy and thanks for sharing. I wonder if those teams who vary pressure between road and cobbles or change from 28 to 32 mm wide tyres have empiric measurements proving that they actually gain anything with it. My own experience shows not much difference between 28 and 32mm wide tyres (rough english country lanes).

Not much difference is maybe enough for pros?

Aero bikes and fat tires. I miss the old days when the excitement was for the riders. BTW, is it my imagination or are the riders migrating towards a more comfortable, less aero-intensive posture on their bikes?

Did I hear correctly? NO Campagnolo at Paris-Roubaix?!?
@ricksantana10162 ай бұрын
I was surprised at that especially at this event…

No Campagnolo at the World Tour at all in 2024. Only one Italian second division team is currently using Campagnolo.

I see mostly white, gray, and black frame colors, the Factor uses a grunge font style, while the Cannondale is in pink raw meat color, and the orange Derosa offers some aesthetic relief. The blue, orange, and red muddy blended Giant is plain weird. The S Works wants to enlist in the Russian SMO. These mostly End Time colors depress me.

The tech is far less interesting for P-R than it used to be........Aero bikes = yawn.
