In its ninth halftime drill of the 2017 football season and its last at Kyle Field on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band executes its most anticipated formation, the 4-way Cross and is joined on the field at the end of the drill by the rest of the some 2400 members of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets in forming the annual Corps Block-T. Musical selections for the drill are Our Gallant Infantry March, Strategic Air Command March and Cathedral Chorus. Texas A&M won the game 55-14.
Time Stamps:
Drill step-off - 2:05
4-Way Cross setup begins - 4:30
4-way Cross intersection - 5:35 to 6:20
Corps Block-T formation - 8:25
Corps of Cadets hump-it - 11:30

@@rhiannon-bv9rk Jacksonville. State. University. Ohio State, Texas A&M, etc. are fine programs, but they can't even be considered as in the same class as JSU. If you ever find yourself with 10-15 min to kill, watch a JSU Marching Southerners show. Literally any of them from the past 20 years will do. I'm partial to the 2011 and 2012 productions "fire and ice" and "I'll fly away" respectively. Have fun!

I was fortunate to have a son in the Aggie band for four years and then my next son the following four years- they never disappoint! Go back to the intro and listen where Colonel Brewer says “ now forming at the north end of Kyle Field..approximately 60,000 plus fans will shout with him, “The Nationally Famous Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band!” Also, may I point out the cross formation during Strategic Air Command - this drill has to be drawn by hand. It cannot be done on the computer program because, in fact, two cadets would be in the same place at the same time! Love the Aggie Band!!

Yes, Come on Over. My Dad went to A&M, did the drills then joined the navy for dental school just as WW2 broke out. More WW2 Officers graduated from Texas A&M than from all the other military schools combined. Watch the movie "To Hell and Back" it's the story of Audey Murphey who was the most decorated soldier in WW2 and up until lately, the most decorated ever. Dad always asked, "Do you know what they call an ex Aggie? √ Boss. It's a good place to send your daughters to school.

Couldn't agree more. The HBCUs, A&M, Ohio State.... Any of them (or all 3 in one of those extended halftimes....would be head and shoulders above the all-too-quickly forgotten whats-their-names they get to perform every year. It would be cost effective, the participants would never, ever forget math they were part of it , there is zero chance that they would embarrass the NFL....and you know what else? It would just be nice. A 30 minute period in the NFL season where it isn't actively trying to squeeze every last penny from it's viewers.

John Lott Thank you for your service Sir, USN 89-95, I wanted to know if you knew my Father Don Shell. 1960 was my Father’s senior year in the Corps of Cadets of which I have the utmost respect. Dad said Fish who failed to salute a senior Cadet was in for a long day! Dad was a Chemist for ten years and put himself through Law School at night raising three children into fine Adults and will be forever grateful of his sacrifices He made for our Family along with our Mother. Dad practiced Law as a Title Attorney for Stewart Title most of his professional life. He put my Brother and Sister through school at Texas A&M and attended my Navy boot camp graduation in San Diego, CA. I remember our Company 230 marching during the graduation parade toward our designated bleachers filled with Company 230 Relatives. Soon as I made that final left oblique there was my Father cheering us on with his silver hair blowing in the San Diego wind I’ll always remember that moment. I wanted to be an Aggie but it just wasn’t meant to be but I always think of myself as one because I was raised by the finest Human being I will ever know my Father. Thank you for listening and God bless you and Texas A&M University’s Corps of Cadets building Men to lead our great Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Coast Guard! John Shell

For me the most amazing thing is when they go into a close order continuous counter march, no space for any error/misstep and with an instrument!, and they are all on step and in perfect alignment as it seems to go on for minutes in a tightly bunch part of the field, and then they end the continuous counter and all come out one end like they were just taking a stroll in a park. The base drums have it the hardest on the close counter, having to dip their big drum down to avoid obstructing the rest of the band as they make the turn. Totally awesome GIG’EM ‘75

Now, that I live in San Antonio, I have had the pleasure and honor of seeing them perform on a regular basis. Up until the time TAMU joined the SEC the Aggie Band did not receive as much national recognition as they deserved and were a bit of a Texas secret, but not any more. The whole nation is beginning to catch on to just how special these young men and women are. Kudos to TAMU!

There are not enough of the letter "O" in the word "smooth" to convey the way i feel about what this marching band performed in this video. Holy truckload of OOOOOOOOOs. Edit: watch this video on 1/2 or 1/4 speed to see the intricacies of this art. Then watch it on double speed to see just how seemless and truly smooth this performance is. One mistake would be like a domino effect, and can easily happen but it does not (maybe some mistakes did happen, but they are almost imperceptible here). Just amazing that someone wrote this choreography and that these team members performed it so flawlessly. Just beautiful. I did detect a mistake, but the ability to quickly rectify the mistake seems to be something this team was also taught, because the "mistake" really went by quickly and almost undetectably with no ill effect. That is also talent i credit to the teachers and coaches. Of course there will be mistakes or mishaps - and the ability to handle them gracefully is what makes this team, teachers and coaches top notch all the way. These skills will serve them well in life - these skills of foreseeing and averting disaster, skills of planning, skills of teamwork, skills that every school should be teaching in every subject - not just in marching band. What is being taught is equally important as to the WAY it is being taught. And here, the lessons and the method of teaching seems very effective!

Much respect to the Texas A&M Fighting Aggie Band. Wish y'all well with your New coach, Jumbo Fisher, a great hire by your savy AD. Hope we can again meet up one day on the gridiron. Until then...Your fellow Texas brothers and sisters down here in Austin.....Hook 'em!

Hook 'em Horns. Even though you at TU have consistently beat our butts, the Aggie War Hymn doesn’t reference beating Alabama, Georgia, or LSU! The A&M vs. Texas game on Thanksgiving is a tradition that needs to be begun again! Beat the Hell outa TU! Gig Em Aggies! Class of 70/Squadron Six.

I loved it when I heard an Ohio State grad - who was in their band - say after A&M’s halftime, “That was absolutely insane! Mind. Blown. Nothing I’ve ever performed or seen before compares!!” Correct sir; you’re honest, and correct.

I’m so glad you posted this! I’ve been feening for some FTAB awesomeness. I was a CT (class of ‘05) and always razzed the BQs, but it was just a “sibling” rivalry. Every Aggie has the utmost respect for the Nationally Famous Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band! Thanks and Gig ‘Em! A-WHOOP!!!!!

They may be the best band in the land, but they aren’t the best damn band in the land. Jokes aside though their marching styles are very different, comparing these bands isn’t a very valid comparison. Osu does very modern, designed drill halftimes, this band does very military style marching and drill, and LSU does a lot of “hype” music and marching. All styles very awesome in their own respective ways

I admire the Aggie band very much as a former drum major and involved in music my entire adolescence. I grew up in College Station; numerous cadet friends growing up. The band is brilliant around line dressing; precise all around. Then, we have the running on and off field, pre and post event. A synchronized entry and and exit was the most simple event of the day in my experience.

The precision is absolutely flawless. How is it possible to do that and play good music at the same time? I could've done without the garbled dialogue from the announcer. Important information to be sure, but not the right time for it.
