Hello Robin Foxer! Could you explain (maybe in another video?) what some of the menu options mean? I bought one at the BSS at a show special price but am struggling to work out what several of the menu items mean; what for example is CVBS or DPC? How are you supposed to use Trigger Calibration? The most frustrating thing is how are you supposed to use the Trajectory option? It seems to have no relationship to the Reticle option which is where I set up my zero; you have 5 distances and you can move a cursor (not the displayed reticle) but nothing seems to change when you come out of the menu system. I can’t make head nor tail out of it. And the handbook that comes with it is worse than useless(image is however fantastic). Could you also advise on the best target to use for zeroing, I have been reduced to using heat pads bought off Amazon but it seems a bit Heath Robinson.

Was nice to meet you at the show Robin, I spoke to you at length about my HIKLH19 and moaned about the rear rubber oclear..ha! I would absolutely love to make the switch to thermal, but would never have the funds for this! Hi I was wondering if you could tell me how the image on the Hikmicro Panther Pq50l compares to the Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50. I have looked extensively online but cannot find a single comparison video or review. Thanks In Advance Dave

Hi Dave. I can only really say that having used both they are simply comparable. They both do the job as effective as each other. The menu system is a tad easier on the pulsar, but the zoom and pip is easier to use on the HIK. Then there’s the price. Only one winner there. Plus with UK backup HIK’s customer service is pretty dam good on that front too.

#HIKMICROPQ50L . What a terrific piece of kit. As a retired gamekeeper my foxing outings were always with the lamp. What a difference one of these would have made with those shy ones coming in from neighbouring grounds already educated to the lamp. Still doing fox control on a local farm from high seats but limited to the amount of time once the light goes. Would love to own one.

I have, in fact I used one last week. In a couple of weeks time I’ll have a video that will include footage from it. We were only on rats but you can see the difference between the GH and the GQ.

The Panther PQ50L is a Micro Thunder TQ50 with an 18650 battery, a rangefinder and £900 more on the price tag. Since most people would use an external powerbank with either scope, £900 for a rangefinder seems a lot of money

No, it’s like a digital camera. But you can run it off a simple power bank.

Depends on the capabilities of the shooter. I’ve had foxes at 240 yards. I’d say it’ll do 300 without to much of a problem.

I wouldn't call it a lot. Yes there is some. A small amount that you don't notice as its as fast as the recoil pretty much.

Hi robin looks a great scope. Im part of a fair sized duck shoot witch i and a few outhers keeper i do all the fox/vermin control on the shoot and nabouring farms with my pard 007 witch does me well . Really need to get myself a thermal spotter advetualy as ive seen from your vidios is a game changer . my freind on the shoot uses nv aswell and for the past year has said he wants to go thermal hes geting a pulsar thermion every time we go out shooting it comes up in conversation . i keep saying you should bite the bullet and get one every time . Its funny because i know he never will . The scope would be very beneficial to my verming control that i do .but also to see my freinds reaction would be amusing aswell lol .

#HIKEMICROPQ50L I’m returning to shooting after a few years of all work and no play. I have recently been asked to help control some foxes during lambing on a local farm. Having spent the savings on rifle and scope, I’ve dug out my old lamping kit but the foxes seem to have become quite wary. This may be due to the high density of traffic or just the fact that my eyesight isn’t as sharp as it used to be. I enjoy watching your (and Mark Ripley) KZfaq channels as they remind me of foxing and rabbiting outings as a kid in Gloucestershire. Please let it be me 🙏

@@MrRockstar1968 you’ve been allocated that number. So If ticket 142 is drawn. You win the scope. Ticket numbers start at 50. If a number lower than 50 is drawn then it’ll be re-drawn. But I suggested we start at 50 because who wants to be a low ass number in a draw? I wouldn’t. Hope that clears things up for you.

#HIKMICROPQ50L Something like this is way, way out of my price range, always wanted something with an internal range finder so i don't have to keep bobbing my head up and down trying to focus on the image then on the range finder, then getting night blindness and by then the buggers ran off, this would be ideal to work my permissions with.

I can never afford this investment even though it's clearly an amazing product and would be a buy once item, it's not possible for me. Everything is crossed!
