Hello there! Your video was recommended to us by the brilliant KZfaq algorithm. Tomy Steam Along Thomas (w/ Annie & Clarabel) was one of our family’s favourite little train toys; in fact, we bought this set [for] our eldest son when he was a youngling. Time flies! 😅 Anyways, your video inspired us to track one of these down; it is amazing how much of a sought-after, coveted collector’s item this Thomas model has become - but that is the way it goes! It has been years since we had this Thomas in our collection, and so we have some pertinent questions: When not in use/play, where does all the excess water in Thomas’ tank go? Similarly, how/where does one dispose of it? Thank you for sharing this lovely bit of nostalgia with us!

Thank you and it is recommended that you take out the water once you are done playing with it. The water is stored in the engine and if it’s over filled it leaks on the track. But the way you dispose of the water is to unscrew the bottom front of the engine and it gives you access to the water tank, dump it, and then screw it back in and you’re good to go👍

For broken gears you also can use superglue on the crack it then also works again if you dont have spare gears to switch them :)

I got a Tomy Steam Along metallic Thomas set from my local Goodwill, but it doesn’t work sadly. I have everything but the box. It’s super cool to see someone else has one too! I don’t know how to fix it however, sadly. It’s not the water tower set though.

Thomas and Annie could use new tires… Also, you don’t really need to unscrew Annie’s switch to disassemble her.

Great video and the Steam Along Thomas is one of my favorite models! Since you’re has battery corrosion, the best way to fix that is by using white vinegar and a cue tip to clean it.

I remember when I get my first tomy model ever in 2023,It had a broken gear... I tried to fix it by glueing it,But i made even worse.The wheels just didn't move.And when i tried to remove the gear,I damaged the wheel.But now it runs well.

When I was little I always wanted one of the Tomy train sets, but the only things I got were some of the road vehicles and a tunnel. And a second hand Clarabel coach. I guess I already had a whole bunch of Wooden Railway and Take-Along toys. 🥲

I mean if someone were to place the Metallic body shell onto the white running board version… then you could have an ultimate version of steam along Thomas.

Yea, it’s hard to do that though because the metallic shell isn’t like the normal shell and the smoke box is attached to the running board :/

I got my steam along thomas from some donations shop when I was little, my mum bought it from an old lady who said that it didn’t work, it was only $10 though so we got it anyway, we then found out at home that it did work, maybe that lady couldn’t figure out how to make it work? Anyways, since I wasn't really a fan of it at the time I gave it to one of my friends as a present because his was broken, he still has it by the way, I mean I didn’t really care for it so much that every time I made a new layout I would just sit it on a siding or something. I’m probably not gonna get another one, I’m more of a fan of the normal engines

You should fix that corrosion before the battery contact breaks off , that happened to my Freddie because that's how the seller sent me it

@@TTTEoliverFan nice! :D also when i said the battery contact snapped off from my tomy freddie, it was because of some corrosion and eventually the contact broke off, so i had to use tin foil to fix it

I have a steam along Thomas, 2 of them. They’re bolth broken. They came in a repair lot. I used one broken Annie to fix a part on another one and one of them and that one kinda works. It doesn’t steam but Annie on it is VERY powerful. I also was able to make the other steam along Thomas set (one without the water tower) with parts I already have. I don’t really care that it doesn’t steam because I was expecting it to not work at all. Also I didn’t know it made sound? Are all of them supposed to make sound or just some?

the old steam along thomas is accurate how you fill up a tank engine from the water tank meanwhile the old isn't accurate you fill it in the smoke box that doesnt make sense at all kinda jope they remake it like this

If you want details, Annie and thomas have been completely ripped from each other from the wires, thomas has a bit of grime on his face, Annie is falling apart from her chassis, Annie's battery cover is gone, the metal plate is falling out of the chassis of annie, thomas has alot of this weird brown stuff around his side tanks, Annie has a marking on her face, and Annie's battery compartment is very dusty and corroded.
