So, here's a bit of info about the Terastalization gimmick. All Pokémon have a "Tera Type", but only certain ones, the special bright ones wandering the wild or the ones found in Raid Dens, can change to a Tera Type that's anything other than one if it's original typing. So if you catch an ordinary wild Pikachu, it will only have an Electric Tera Type, but if you find one in a Raid Den, it can have anything as it's Tera Type, like the one I caught that's got a Dragon Tera Type. Also, the way the Tera Type change works is that it can only be done once per battle for your whole team, and it can only change to the predetermined Tera Type it has when you get that Pokémon, unless you grind out certain items from Raid Dens that can be used to change it's Tera Type at a special restaurant. The Tera Type overrides the original typing for taking attacks, so my Dragon Pikachu will only take extra damage if it's hit something that's super effective against Dragon Types, but it will still do additional damage with moves that match it's original Electric type, like Thunderbolt. All of this applies to many Pokémon that normally has two types, so a Ghost and Fire type that can Terastalize into a dark type will only be classified as a Dark Type when taking damage. Lastly if you Terastalize a Pokémon into the same type it already is, like Terastalizing Sprigatito into a Grass type, when it's already a Grass Type, Grass Type attacks will do an additional 50% damage on top of the already 50% bonus it would get from a regular Grass Type using a Grass Type attack. So a Grass Terastalized Sprigatito will automatically do double damage when using Grass typed attacks before calculating whether it's super effective against the enemy or whether it's attack was a critical hit.

i feel like i should clarify how the change types thing actually work. when u catch a pokémon it’s tera type will be one of its normal types, but in order to get a pokémon to become a different type you can either encounter wild tera pokémon through raids and in the wild, or change the type with a lot of resources. you can’t just choose what type it turns into mid battle, and it’s a once a battle thing (technically u have to go to a pkmn center to restore it but competitively it’s once a battle) it’s be competitively but not quite as bs as choosing the type mid battle

No. Terastalizing *does not* change you into any type. It can only change you into *one type,* mostly the same type you already are for a power boost but there are chances to get for example a flying Tera-Type Pikachu or a water Tera-Type Jigglypuff, but you cannot change it unless you see a certain NPC.

I wonder if the streamers Magnemites are alive or toy accessories? Also remember the gods or god like beings in DragonballZ? In Dragonball Kami, Korin, Popo… they’re a bit more impactful at the time since they didn’t think it’d continue.
