Everyone saying specifically about Mega Rayquaza, but if you didn't know, Mega was the core gimmick of Gen 6's games (X and Y, and ORAS) where you had a Pokémon holding a specific item, and if you had the Mega Bracelet/Mega Ring/Mega Keystone, then said Pokémon could do a mega evolution boosting its stats and in some cases changing its typing. For example, Mega Charizard X is Fire/Dragon compared to the Fire/Flying typing Charizard normally has. You could only Mega Evolve, once per battle though

I mean this as respectfully as possible, but as a long time pokemon fan, hearing someone ask "whats mega rayquaza" is crazy. Gamefreak essentially took an already great pokemon and said "alright how can be make this as broken as possible". It got banned from the banned pokemon tier.

I don't think anyones explained it here for you, so I will. Gen 9 has a gimmick called terrastalizing, which by picks one of a pokemon's types as a tera type, Charizard for example randomly gets tera fire, or tera flying. You can transform your pokemon mid battle to become just its tera type, giving it boosted stab for that type. Through other meabs, you csn actually get any type as a tera type, so your grass/bug leavanny can just decide to be a pure fire type whenever it wants. In game, you get one transformation per battle and have to make that choice in the moment, but Pokerouge seems to just let as many and any pokemon hold the tera orb and be terrastalized right out the gate.

it's kinda funny seeing how much he doesn't know. Especially being scared of most old legendaries, especially mewtwo. I wouldn't be surprised if skeledirge, the gen 9 starter, beats mewtwo in a fair 1v1 in normal games, mainly since skeledirge gets slack off, the healing move.

So what baton pass is pretty simple. It allows a pokemon that you switch in to keep the stats increase that your previus had. So basically if your pokemon use sword dance and goes to +2 attack you can switch and that pokemon will have the +2 attack. The reason on why its very good with skeliderge is because is signature move wich is just a slightly weaker flametrower always increase his special attack by one. So basically he was constantly abusing this to constantly have a pokemon with an insane special attack.

Trust me, you gotta watch Sophist play PokeRouge. He done 3 days of streams to beat the whole thing and squeezed it into a 50 minute video.

You should play XY as your next nuzlocke, and Sun and Moon after so you can learn more about gimmicks that Pokemon have and everyone loves and hate.

so omega ruby and alpha sapphire gave kyogre groudon and rayquaza megas kyogre and groudons are called primal forms but are effectively megas mega rayquaza is special tho. normally a pokemon needs to hold a mega stone to activate mega evolution. rayquaza doesnt meaning you can give it ANY HELD ITEM YOU WANT and have the POWER of a mega. so an already strong form just turns stronger. if it helps as a frame of reference, imagine the strength of gen 1 mewtwo but in modern pokemon. like other comments said mega rayquaza is seen as so powerful by the competitive pokemon community that in the gen 6 and 7 formats, where mega evolution exists, mega rayquaza literally is deemed so strong its banned from ubers and ubers already is basically a soft banlist since most people play in ou. but mega rayquaza is so strong that a tier full of legendary and actually BUSTED pokemon is too WEAK for it
