I agree, I have their Shockwave kit, and it has been one of the best snap-build kits I have built to date. Definitely worth getting Yolopark Optimus or Shockwave.

Same. Figuring out the transformation of the toy is the fun of itself, especially the third party ones, they're like using black magic. These figures are just figures, static, sure they look pretty but of course it is, they're figures! Transformers toys that are transformable but also look pretty and screen accurate? Now that is awesome and the fact that the toymakers can figure out such level of engineering to achieve that is astonishing to see.

There are enough companies out there making stuff. So, I’m okay if some transforms while others do not. But the ThreeZero figures are beautiful robots. I can live with that. If they ever decide to transform them, even better.

Because okifnyou make it transform it doesn't look identical to the movie version.

Maybe not, but 3rd party proves you can absolutely come SUPER close to even the stylized cartoons, down to the transformation needing to add steps to hideaway vehicle wheels and flipping out robot form wheels because the G1 cartoon often put those at different scales so those details "look" better on a humanoid form. Same with all the limbs and other finer details. If they don't match the robot form scale from the vehicle, they get hid away in panels and the proper scale and sized features get pulled out during the transformation process. It just costs more.

Then why dont you just make one that is actually screen accurate and it does not jeopardise the transformation ? It’s easier said than done…… these are meant for those who appreciates action display , that’s what threezero are aiming for ? Yes the title of this video is misleading, but every threezero transformers collectibles they stated this is NOT a toy in their website and on the packaging boxes . Pretty sure studio series and third party exist for a good reason …. You simply don’t go to a barber shop to ask if they provide oil change services …..

They exist but only in the 3rd party space. They rival these posing only models in detail and grit while still being transformable. You can even get cel shaded versions. To describe their level of detail, many of the wheeled Transformers have entirely different sets of wheels in robot and vehicle modes because the G1 cartoon had different scales for the two (mostly smaller on robot forms to be out of the way). But you aren't putting on and pulling off those wheels, they are hidden within the frames by clever panels and extra transformation steps.

You're thinking of laser pointers which are class 2 and above. This is a "laser light", which isn't that powerful. You're not going to see the dot from this across the convention center like you can with even the cheap laser pointers. I know that's confusing given the visual effect in camera, but the washout there is because it's all in one frequency and the camera doesn't have the other colors to work out how to balance it appropriately. You can get the same effect with a bright LED.

I feel like it's representative of something wrong in our society that most people want Shockwave, one of the bad guys, when Blaster was basically the same, but a good guy, and no one seems to even remember he exists.

@@anon_y_mousse G1 decepticons basically only ran around and trolled people. The only time they ever do any killing is in the 86 movie. Bayverse decepticons are simply badass. How could someone dislike a 35 foot tall walking helicopter? Or a massive kilometer long death worm under the control of an emotionless logic driven cyclops? In g1 decepticons had the first combiner. It just goes hard. Also, it’s a war. Autobots vs Decepticons. Both sides murder. Remember that time Optimus executed his former leader? Or when he shot a downed enemy in the head? Going back to Soundwave vs Blaster, the reason people would want to see Soundwave is because he’s more iconic. It’d be cooler to have Soundwave on the opposing side than have Blaster on the good side, just for the sake of the movie. I certainly don’t miss villains in general being unsympathetic. Having a realistic and compelling villain makes the story more interesting. If you want to worry about people idolizing bad guys, worry about real life villains. Don’t worry about people who think the bad guy robots from the funny 80s cartoon are cool.

Yeah these might be some of my favorite robots but that's BECAUSE they can transform. I can live just fine with some Sentinels, Battlemechs, or Gundams if I just need an action set piece on my bookcase.

I personally like transforming ones, but that because I like to mess with them on occasion. I want toys not figures basically. But the non-transforming figures look great, really nice detail and looks like the robots from the movies.

Watched about 5 minutes of the first Bayformers movie and turned it off because it just looked Boring AF and haven't bothered watching the rest. I only watched Dumblebee because it was a step in the right direction for a change but they went straight back to the Michael Bay style of more explosions, less story telling and garbage-looking robots and alt modes in Rise of The Beasts..

Why would this figure have a trailer if he doesn't transform?

I don’t own one, but I think the Robosen ones are impressive piece to show off or for discussion. However, for posing or taking pictures or looking or letting your imagination play, I think these other figures will be more hours of fun.

It's still a Transformer as that's the name of the toy line, but it just happens to not be a transforming Transformer.

Bruh hasbro and third party exist for reason ? It’s not like threezero is a “go-to” /must when it comes to transformers……. Threezero dlx their main objective is to produce cgi model accurate/high end collectibles and it’s what they’ve been doing since day one …..

Agreed. BUT there are incredible transforming figures too, mostly by unlicensed 3rd party companies (so not the real character names). For classic Optimus look up 'light of victory transformation' (or 'light of justice' for the large-scale version). For modern styling look up 'magnificent mecha'. There are tons of other characters by a few competing companies. If you just want to see how the transformations work, check out user peolesdru

They're still pumping out dozens of transforming toys every year. These are niche products for enthusiast collectors to display.

That’s what’s spoiled the movies for me, there’s no physical way the size of the robot equates to the size of the vehicle. I wish they’d stayed closer to the original than overly complicated CGI characters.

@@Jimmythefish577 I have a lot of problems with the live action ones, but scale is not part of it at all. The original laughed at the very concept of scale. My favorite was Cosmos, who was less than half as tall as most Transformers, but turned into a giant flying saucer they could all fit in. Megatron turned into a pistol that easily fit into the hand of Decepticons smaller than him. Soundwave and Blaster transformed into normal sized cassette players along with the cassette bots that also size changed with them. We also see them as giant robots, but then in other scenes the same Transformers are inside vehicle mode Transformers clearly at human scale talking to a human in traffic. The old series handwaved that away as shrinking technology, but the Michael Bay version does at least hint at a physical explanation with extreme use of expansion joints and origami-like structures.
