My favorite fly is the gamechanger. I got stationed in alaska and needed something to take up my time, and decided to try fly tying. The gamechanger was my first fly, and will always be my favorite. Best of all, I learned to tie it from your video! A few years down the road, anytime I need a recipe or a guideline for a fly, I go to your channel first. Thank you for all you do!

Thanks Justin. I personally love tying baitfish/leech streamer flies and jigs. 3 of my favorite materials are bucktail, zonker and all sort of streamer feathers. My favoritees are variations of bulkhead bucktail deceivers, palmered Marabou and hackle leech/baitfish and your one material zonker baitfish. I started my journey with the more advanced tie but now I'm enjoying tying Clouser minnows/crazy Charlie and experimenting combining all the techniques I've learn from the KZfaq community. My favorite pattern that i use is the San Juan worm and it is also the only fly i have attempted to tie. I don't know how to tie any other flies yet. Those materials would make me feel like a kid in a candy store! One of my favorite memories was when i used a fly i tied myself and got hit after hit on it fishing with some friends and they didnt catch nearly as much as i did😅. The fly was a lead head jig that i had painted black nail polish on, and dressed with black with blue sparkle dubbing and silly blue legs in a type of stone fly. I ended up tying a few more like it to give to my friends!

That’s super kind of Justin. I like that you made a video just to show some gratitude. My go to fly is an, “Ol’ Mr. wiggly.” I fish Texas and have found working the top down is my favorite. I caught my personal best large mouth walking up a creek just north of Dallas and basically dry fly fishing for bass. You can fish below PK dam with it and even use it as a hopper dropper rig. I tie extra and give them away when I’m at the poplar fishing spots. I’m excited to see what you tie with all the new goodies!

Very nice of Justin to send such a wonderful package. And thank you again for sharing. Have to admit I was a tad jealous lol. My favorite fly ever, was the first fly I ever used. It was in the mid 70s, I was about 10yrs old and my Dad, brother and I were in our aluminum boat fishing a Utah high mountain reservoir and not catching anything, not even a nibble. (There was a damsel fly hatch on that had just hit) My dad looked at me, pulled out his knife and told me to move over towards him, where he cut a small lock of my brown hair from my head. He then used it, with some thread, and fingernail polish he kept in his tackle box, and tied up a fly. Then he had me tie that fly on my line with a clear water Bobber about 2 feet above said fly and said to try that. I thought it would never work. But I did as told and not 30 seconds after it hit the water, pow, the skunk was out of the boat. Needless to say I limited out in less than 10 minutes. I have been tying flies ever since. P.S. sorry for such a long story but I truly wanted to share with you and your subscribers and hope you all will enjoy me sharing just one of my many wonderful outdoor memories!!!

Awesome box. I also was sent a “care” package by someone when I started a few weeks ago for crappie jigs. So TY Justin for passing along the goodies. I need to start tying flies. Just got a fly rod. And tied a size 6 predator foam fly. But really need a lot more flies. We only have stocked trout here. But will likely practice with panfish and bass.

OK, McFly, I'm in... Funny you mentioned Davie McPhail, because, my favorite fly is one I learned from him. The wonderful Black Mamba. I hooked and lost a great stocked trout while fishing the Black Mamba on a tenkara rod. The sound of the line singing as it cut through the water when that fish would run still haunts my dreams. It's a pity I lost that fly to a cruising striper. Note to self: Don't risk favorite flies near docks and rocks. Thanks.

I just found your channel a few weeks ago, and have already learned several cool tips. My go to fly for the rivers near me is an olive or tan scud. I just started tying so that is about all I know how to tie so far.

Favorite fly is the red wire worm. Caught a 23.5 inch brown with it.

A bunny leach is by far my favorite and go to, caught a brood Rainbow up in NE Iowa fishing one below a hopper.

Honestly after watching your thing videos it inspired me to take a class to learn how while we are frozen. So far I’ve been working on getting some bass streamers figured out along with some floating designs for my trout fishing.

Marc Petitjean is the man and his tools are a great boon for working with CDC and other materials. He has his own channel which features a bunch of his patterns so I'd good check it out and get tying! He's super innovative and his dry fly patterns are a must for any flybox.

hi, my favorite fly is the pheasant tail which I use very often and it allowed me to catch a beautiful 1kg brown trout hidden in its den between two large stones. I hadn't seen it but from experience I know where they can be the fish. The trout I caught was not large but it was of good quality and then I released it. I have caught several much larger trout, but this one gave me greater satisfaction. Gianluca from Italy

Wow, it's great that you have such a great benefactor to help you out and that you are willing to pay it forward. My favorite fly is tied by a local tyer in northwest Pa called the Ugh Bug, its great for steelhead. As a new tyer, I've tried to copy it with limited success.
