4:20 this is a high shelf (meaning it attenuates (reduces) OR boosts high frequencies, depending on if you've dragged it up or down) A low shelf would have the same effect (boost or attenuate) but on low frequencies. Just a note on the dry/wet knob around 2:20, I have a feeling you know this but just to clarify, the dry/wet knob dictates how much of the "dry" signal gets through vs how much of the processed/"wet" signal gets through. If you have it set to 0%, you'll hear just the original sample out of that clip. If you have it set to 100%, you're getting only the reverb (with none of the original audio signal - imagine hearing the reverb of a clap but not hearing the clap itself.) I'm not 100% sure how compound clips work in Resolve (That's why I'm watching your videos haha), but if DaVinci plays both the original audio file as well as that duplicated one with the reverb applied and you have the dry/wet knob at less than 100%, then you might end up accidentally boosting the volume of the dry portion of the signal - probably not noticeable, or maybe even a desired effect since it's the last beat before the reverb and you want to accentuate it a bit, but just something to keep in mind! Great vid btw, I'm coming over from Premiere Pro and absolutely loving the audio tools / workflow available in DaVinci

Billy another great DR video another way I've found that if you actually uses the end of the song. I cut the audio clip a few seconds before the end of the Video then cut 3 to 5 seconds before the actual end of the song and ripple delete. Now set the cursor to slip and play with the actual cut point and move it back and fourth and you will soon find a point where you can't hear a change and you now are using the actual end of the audio clip/song. I also like to fade the Video to black and let the audio (Music) continue to play out to it natural end but 2 to 5 seconds after the video.

Reverb gives an impression of ambience if you use Audacity, good effect to make your voice like a pro. For this case, I take *"Fade Out"* effect on Audacity. 1. Open audio/video 2. Select few second audio 3. Effect - > Fade Out 4. Done

Great video man! I've been looking for a tutorial on this forever. One question though, the beat's volume almost seems to double when I do this. Is there any way I can make it so I get all that juicy reverb without the volume increase on the beat itself? Thanks

Hey I extended my clip like you did but it still sounded like all the reverb was smashed within the clip and didn’t extend and echo. Is there a setting I’m missing? I tried doing reverb last as well to make sure it knew there was time to work but it didn’t make a difference.

3:12 you can also just put the reverb effect on the track itself

@@BillyRybka Yeah, it does depend on your workflow, so I can see how Calvin's suggestion might not make sense; but having it on a track on its own solves the problem of not giving the effect room to work, as well as bouncing the clip with some extra dead space (like in the compound clip). When I'm mastering in Fairlight and dealing with over 40 tracks (it's easier to manage that many tracks and more in an appropriate DAW), I have three tracks set with different levels of reverb that I can then use automation recording on to bring in and out whenever I want by routing certain tracks to it. But of course, if I'm not dealing with such an intensive sound mix, I tend to do it this way; but I've learned there are plenty of ways to skin a cat!

Hi since I upgraded DAVINCI to 17.4 I'm been having issues. There are problems with the malfunction of the laptop keyboard :( JKL) Forward-reverse not working-- P Full screen not working. undo Control Z does not work. IN-OUT not working. How to solve this problem? Thanks
