John, it's 14 feet long and 36 inched wide

Great video! what size boat is yours? I am finishing up my jon boat build and can't wait to get it on the water. I used western red cedar from Home Depot for my framing and sealed it with oil based enamel. How is stability after adding the deck with 2 people? Also, did the boat sit any lower in the water after adding the wood frame?

It's a 1436, its fairly stable but you have to make sure you and your fishing partner are on the same page with it comes to moving around, they can just decide to jump to the other side of the boat with giving you a heads up. Adding the decks and farming did add some weight and I am sure it does sit a little lower but I am not sure how much, not to the point that you have to worry about water coming over the side when you are fishing. I also saved some weight by getting 2x3's for the framing instead of 2x4, aluminum would have been better but I did not have the money for that. Thanks for watching and the comment.

So how did you attach the frame to the bottom of the boat. Is it riveted , is there a sub floor?

There is a sub floor and some of the frame is attached to it with right angle brackets and coated screws. I didn’t cover all the ribs of the boat with sub floor so every place I could I pop riveted the frame to the ribs. The brackets are 1 1/2 inch and are in the deck supplies at Lowe’s or Home Depot. @@ArkansasFishingVideos I'm kind of a rookie so when you pop rivet the ribs do you need to waterproof em? What size rivets?

No the ribs inside the boat are about a inch in depth so the rivet goes through the sub floor and into the rib, never really goes near the bottom of the boat. @@ArkansasFishingVideos I'm not a good spatial thinker so I write things out. So your sub floor is over all ribs and is one continuous piece? And then you pop riveted the sub floor, and at times, the frame to the ribs through the floor? My other question is where do you put your bilge pump?

My sub floor is a piece in the middle and a piece up front because of the way my boat is laid out. And yes attached to the sub floor in places and the the ribs in others. My pump is attached in the back by the drain plug and exits out the side of the boat in the back.
