The issue is that the JK's don't have an inside handle to grab. Previous models had a "Through" handle which allowed you to grab on the inside of the door and mirror.

The older JKs had an inside loop handle which makes it easy to carry and install. I believe 2010 and up had a closed handle so you can’t grab it to lift which makes it very awkward. Definitely going to be getting one of those.

Where did you purchase the L brackets? How long are they?

I got mine locally but I just checked Amazon and they have have these amzn.to/3Uzd2XU. The ones I have will support 75 pounds per bracket and the link above holds 100 pounds per. My Jeep is a 2012 and I found my door weights online so it’s worth googling to make sure the combined weight or a front and back door to make sure you have enough support. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

@ArkansasFishingVideos

No, the board is mounted into the wall studs with lag bolts and the hooks are mounted into the board with lag bolts. The hooks come with screws or at least mine did but I threw those away because they would not support the weight of the door, the lags should not pull out of the board. Thanks for watching!

So looking at the Trout Fishing Regulations sign I have a few questions you might be able to answer...can you only fish with one fly? So no double nymph rigs?? Also, Can you change out Rod/reels so long as you are only USING one at a time??
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos 9 ай бұрын
No droppers or doubles in the catch and release areas but each area on the river is a little different. You can change out rods and reels as long as you are only fishing one, we had guys and some gals lining the banks like they were cat fishing out there with 2 or more rods at a time. We have had real problems through the years with people snagging Browns during the spawn and instead of breaking them off they played them to the point that the fish died. This is a link (see below) to the state reg and you will find The Little Red info on or around page 35-37. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. drive.google.com/file/d/1dY4p1aNMxr8LGOw_rYAM7VLwi_JP11Eu/view?pli=1

Possibly the LEAST helpful video on KZfaq.
@tresdoobies6581

This is an interesting build... Similar to others on KZfaq that show PVC as the method of support. I was about to build one for my new Outback but decided to check with Hobie for their take on it. So this information is particularly for Hobie owners planning to possibly do this. It may have be pertinent for other kayaks as well. First, I read my owner's manual and lo and behold there is a section on storage and transport and they have a diagram and describe this PVC method and strongly discourage it. As a matter of fact they say that if their recommendations aren't followed it could void the warranty. I decided to follow up with a call to their corporate office in Oceanside to speak to a technical specialist. The person I talked to described this as a "tragic situation". They explained that there had been a number of issues with cracks particularly around the scupper holes that they determined were caused from storage and transport on PVC bunks. They went on to explain that it would sometimes take a year or more for the cracks to develop. Long story short, they strongly recommend against it! Needless to say I'm looking for an alternative method. I hope this information helps others avoid a possible costly mistake.
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos Жыл бұрын
I did a quick search of the forums and that does seem to be the case for Hobie "Stiff PVC pipes used as bunks along the scupper lines can cause the scuppers to push up into the hull and that causes the scupper area in the cockpit to rise. This seems to be an issue on heavier boats and possibly tied down tight which pulls the rails down as the scuppers are pushed up. Over time and loading Polyethelyene "cold flows" This is why we also do not want boats hanging from the bow and stern handles. The constant load can tear the handles out. Same for leaving a boat on a scupper cart... not good. If the PVC were light enough to bend and conform to a longer length of the hull, the issue may be reduced." To date have not had any issues with mine. Given the price of the Outback, I would do whatever Hobie recommends, their boats are about 5 times what I paid for my 3 Waters kayak. Thanks for watching and for the info, if you come up with a better safer way to store them do let me know.

Taking my wife out this weekend. We have never caught trout before. Any advice?
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos Жыл бұрын
I believe the lake is still up from all the rain, so I would probably try down at the old swinging bridge because they are probably going to be running water. Depending on the water you may have to tight-line it. If not I would try trout magnets under a lite leader and cork. If you get lucky and they are not running water, try up at the dam near the pipes. Hope all that helps. Good luck and dress warm sounds like it's going to be a cold weekend.

Great video! I'm heading over to fish the Little Red in a week and a half. Hopefully the generating schedules will allow us to get some wading in. You can find a fish friendly net at most sporting goods stores or Amazon for around $30. Old style nets take the slime off of the fish. The trout may swim off looking fine and healthy, but it can actually die days later from a bad net, somebody wearing gloves, or dry hands.

I'm coming up next week for a few days to go fishing can you do a video on how to read a water generation schedule? That would be really helpful.
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos Жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure I covered that in this video (link below) but unfortunately the schedule is just a rough idea of what they may do. In this state, Southwest Power Pool controls the water and they will sometimes say one thing on the App or Web and do another. You're in luck right now because the lake is low so unless we get a ton of rain, generation will be at a minimum if at all. They only released water for about three hours yesterday so you could have fished all day really by moving downriver and then back up after they stopped. See if that video helps and let me know if you have any more questions. You can also stop in at Ozark Angler when you get up there those old guys will shoot you straight. The app info is near the end of the video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q9pghtCCntWvj3k.html

Has anyone considered putting, like the yoga mat under the deck plate to dampen the sound? That way, it will never wear out, as you are not walking directly on it. I just got the Big Fish 108, and think I will try that method. Plus, it wouldn't have to be glued at all since it would be sandwiched
@ArkansasFishingVideos

The only issue I can see with that would be drainage. The 105 has holes under that panel, but I have never seen a 108 up close. If you try it out let me know how it works for you and I agree the not glueing or velcroing would be a big benefit for sure. Thanks for watching and the comment.

When I started looking I was looking for the same thing. The thing that sold it for me was this guys channel kzfaq.info he’s 7 feet tall and I’m going to say over 250 lb so if he can stand up to fish and feels stable I figured I could to. I think he has other yaks as well but look on his channel or his instagram and you will see him on a 3 waters. The 3 waters is plenty stability to me but like everything it take some getting used to, the cathedral hull really helps the stable in my opinion. I’m assuming the scrambler has a rounded bottom and it will be a night a day difference just sitting in the 3 waters. Thanks for watching and the comment.

That's the crap that pissed me off, game and fish is the one that let the DMV get away with doing wrong for so long, so they should be helping people fix it. Especially when you are trying to do it the legal way. What you basically have to do is contact every boat manufacturer until you find the one that made you boat them have the re-isaue a HIN. And there are a lot of them, you may try posting some pictures in tiny boat Facebook groups and see if someone can help narrow it down. Sorry they gave you the run around

Ok, Bought all the directed stuff, got my 2x12 up, SOLID, Put on the same exact L-brackets and hung exactly as directed. Time to finally take the doors off and load them. Front 1st, just exactly as yours are hung. Stood there for a minute, went in the house to do something (2 minutes?) and one of the brackets was bending from the weight of the front doors. I hurried up, threw down a blanket and took one door off. Either my doors are heavier for some reason, or home depot is making cheaper brackets. Now in the market for something steel, more solid. Good idea in theory, but beware of those brackets as of recent.

Bridget the other company gave me a response and said they are a 100 pounds a piece. So you could try those or just add third bracket whatever is cheapest and easiest. How's it going man There's a product out called 5250 put it on the rivet put it in the two screw holes where the transducer was problem solved for the other part about the stiff back on the transom cut that piece of junk out you could now put a 2x4 across in pressure treated seal it and paint it before you use it last longer bolted in place add from where the motor mount is going to be minus a couple inches and come back to the sides of your boat and gusset it you will make the boat hard to kill or you can use smaller triangular gussets one on each side of the boat motor from the floor to the boat top you can attach your bilge pump to it I still have room for your battery check out another boat look at them make it your own don't forget a small solar panel takes the heat off the motor and power is your battery and your depth finder and bait can't team lots of luck from Florida.

You're welcome, I would definitely download the USACE Little App that will give you the most up to date info on water release. Once you have the app the two place you will want to look is the "Releases" and you will see Greers Ferry Dam listed that will tell you when the turned on or off. Also look at "SWAP Forecast" Greers Ferry is number 15 (you will see what I mean in the app) that will tell you when they plan to turn on and off. It's just listed by days of the week so make sure when you look at the day you check the date to make sure it's the right date and not the week before (again you will see what I mean inside the app). The do stick to that schedule pretty close sometimes they may turn on a few minutes earlier but for the most parts it correct. As far as a canoe goes that would depend on your skill level, the Red is not water water for sure but two units running is a lot of water and a fast float. I never recommend anchoring but you can paddle up and float fish back down through the long pools and of course wear a PFD. Give the fly rod a try but ultra light tackle can be just as much fun. Thanks for watching and good luck on your trip!
