As someone who was 10 when this came out, be afraid the aches and creaks only spread out from there and old injuries you thought you healed from childhood and teen years come back BAM and from how my dad is it seems it only keeps getting worse the older you get. :

GamePro was the first to review the game, saying that it "looks like a late-generation PlayStation title rather than a second-generation PS2 effort". Trip Hawkins, then-president of 3DO and publisher of Portal Runner, sent an angry email to John Rousseau, who was president of GamePro. In the email, Hawkins told Rousseau that Rousseau's customers were the advertisers, not the readers, and implied that the reviews should be written to keep the advertisers happy. So here's what blows my mind about this game I've played both of the original army men games on N64. Vicky was like a trained soldier. In the sequel there was at least a few missions where you played as just her. Guns and everything. So why is her dedicated spin off game... THIS?

@@AmericanDivaa Colonel's daughter. She's dating the Sargeant lol But yeah. She's apparently a war reporter in Sarge's Heroes 2, but you still play as her in multiple missions and she controls pretty much exactly the same as Sarge himself.

Throughout the video, I couldn't shake the weird feeling that I'm familiar with this game, but the chess level confirmed something that I'd long since forgotten: I actually have played this before. What's funny is that I looked this game up and in its wiki it said that the president of 3DO, the publisher of this game, wrote an angry letter threatening to cut back on advertising for a gaming magazine they were supporting because a reveiwer gave this game a low score and said it looked like a PS1 game.

So this game was being hyped up before the PS2's release and in all the previews the screenshots looked AMAZING...because they were all CG rendered mock ups. I was legit hyped for this game...and then I saw what it actually looked like and was like "WTF HAPPENED?!". That said I still love the concept of some kind of deranged lovechild of a Barbie and a green Army Man being a character.

oh my god I had the Gameboy Color version of this game I had no idea it was also on Playstation LMAO Also these cutscenes are like a budget Halloween movie special that aired at 2am on Cartoon Network in the 2000s and never played on TV ever again after that and could only be found in the 1 dollar movie bins at a Walmart. LOL.

I knew the word "Runner" i had no idea wtf a "Portal" was or how to read it. I called it "fast green girl" i tried playing it and found it too hard to control, so i watched my brother play it

It's kind of messed up how almost light hearted this game seems to be, cause I think the next Army Men game after this was Sarge's War which went full grim-dark as like every character Sarge knows including Vicki die at the very start.

It's so bizarre looking at this game, I thought the Army men looked familiar... I always saw them in trailers in the Extras menu of Warjetz! My dad actually worked for 3DO Entertainment for a bit, so I got to see his name in the credits of Warjetz, which was pretty neat. Until you realize that 3DO tried to flee the state without giving their employees their final paycheck, but I mean whatever, right?

Oh my god, the nostalgia! I played this game when I was a little kid. Played it on the easiest difficulty cause you were immune to damage, and I was a dumb kid. XD
