I just hated that they always had to bring her back over and over again when she had nothing to do with the storyline or Dunder Mifflin lol the episode where Michael throws her the baby shower is one of my least favorite ones. Then she came back more and more. Dudes, give it a rest.
@edwardfights4900
@edwardfights4900 4 жыл бұрын
@Agent J That episode was pointless and fell flat and nothing about it was funny. They should've been done with Jan after her break up with Michael but they kept insisting on bringing her back when she should've been long gone. Like big deal, Kevin saw Jan and she was pregnant, again, big deal? All that, and it wasn't Michael's kid. Screw off. Injecting Jan in the episode for no reason took away from how awesome the Goodbye, Toby episode was. Infuriatingly bad.
@edwardfights4900
@edwardfights4900 4 жыл бұрын
@Agent J That part yes but the since it lead to nothing and she just got pregnant by herself (or it was her assistant who got her pregnant) and it was revealed it wasn't Michael's, who cares? Why should he? More importantly, why should the audience? She wasnt dating Michael or working at Dunder Mifflin at the time so she had no real logical explanation for being accounted for anymore, post-Michael. That episode with him throwing her a baby shower was one of the worst episodes of the show. I liked the office but some of the storylines were just pointless and this was one of them. There was no need for the audience to know she had a kid on her own. The show should've been the cut off with Jan and why we kept getting updated on her whereabouts was just annoying and it was just obvious they were out of ideas so they kept bringing her uninteresting situations back into the show. Let the Jan arc go. Then, Michael went to go visit her again to find out if she gave him herpes/postmortem relationship discussion, she was in Threat level midnight doing her obnoxious singing, when Dwight went to go find out how to do business with women and then she popped up AGAIN with the white pages contract termination. Enough of her. She didn't tie into the storyline at all after she was done dating Michael. Weirdest shoehorning of a past minor character, ever.

The fact that Jan Levinson-Gould was the voice of reason while Jan Levinson (who I think actually does have a sister in Scottsdale: Amy Levinson Bouzaglo used to own a restaurant there) is the hub of insanity has given me rise to a theory: her husband fought the good fight kept her somewhat on the level, but after they divorced the real basket case reemerged.

I haven't watched any video essays on Jan, but I'm just realizing something. After moving in with Michael and being unemployed, they show Jan sleeping when Michael comes home and he says that she won't be awake for hours. When I lived at home I wanted to avoid being around my parents as much as possible. So, I would adopt an alternate lifestyle of staying up all night and finally going to sleep at sunrise. This would allow me to be active and awake at opposite times as my parents I believe Jan is doing the same thing here. It seems like she's making sure she had as little interaction time as possible with Michael by completely changing her sleeping schedule and avoiding him that way.

I freaking love Jan. You see her slowly descend into madness, egged along by Michael. The complexity and messiness of their relationship was so well thought out. They pushed each other’s buttons in the worst ways. I wish there was more of Jan! Props to the actress for not breaking character during so many shots, including the infamous SNIP SNAP in her face

As a shrink, when Jan lost everything she clung to Michael (the one thing she had left). But she never really liked him, and was constantly trying to make it work anyway. Thus we see the slow decent into madness. Even though it’s funny to watch, this really happens lmao

At first I really liked Jan, she seemed like a normal respectable boss, completely sane. Over time she becomes really toxic and obsessed with Michael and is clinically insane...

Edit: I have been informed vigils are now commonly held before the search for a missing person has been ended. Or maybe the guy below me is wrong. You decide which one is more likely. She's awkward because she lied about her candles having been used at the vigil. There was no vigil, since the girl was found. Therefore, her candlemaking business is not doing as well as she's portraying it.

@@Infinite_Jester Did you even pay attention? They HAD (past tense) a vigil. A vigil can be held before a girl is found, you fucking idiot.
