Summerslam 2017 is definitely a take. Amazing 4-Way Main Event and a pretty good Tag title bout. But the rest was either unremarkable or straight up bad. Compare that to a Rumble with two amazing World title matches and a pretty good rumble, No Mercy for the reasons mentioned in the video or HIAC with two really good Cell Matches. SummerSlam had highlichts but the Main Event was the only thing I remembered without looking up a matchcard. I would probably put TLC and Survivor Series above it as well due to the Shield Reunion Matches (including Kurt Angle of all people), AJ/Brock etc. But cool that you seemingly enjoyed that Summerslam. To be fair 2017 wasn't really good in general so it probably comes down which PPV has the best 1 or 2 matches and the least outright offensive rest.

I got into wrestling in 2013, and geez if Summerslam wasn't my first PPV I'm not sure I would be as into this stuff. Punk and Danielson remain two of the best in the decade since and I hope they keep going for as long as they're healthy enough.

The 2010 Royal Rumble holds a spot within my memory even after 14 years. The lineup was good, various stories were developing during the match to shape up WrestleMania 26, and the return of "The Rated R Superstar" Edge delivered a nice close up to the PPV. 💯

For 2016, Survivor Series or Backlash are strong candidates imho. Backlash was a great launching point for brand split SmackDown, and Survivor Series was brand warfare done right, especially with the men’s survivor series elimination tag match. Plus Goldberg squashing Brock was a great moment Edit: I will say, I have a soft spot for Triple H/Sting at Mania 31. It was very silly, but a lot of fun for 2015 me (and today me too)

Largely agree with this list, so lemme just throw in my 2 cents for a "best of 2020s" so far: 2020: Royal Rumble Reason: duh 2021: Money in the Bank Reason: First event with a full capacity crowd, was a nice return to normalcy. That John Cena return pop is also an all-time moment 2022: Clash at the Castle Reason: As much fun as I had watching Mania, and as great as HIAC was, I think this PPV had the higher overall wrestling quality and the hotter crowd 2023: Wrestlemania 39 Reason: Absolutely phenomenal Wrestlemania. Night 1's main event stands as one of the best, if not the best Wrestlemania main event in terms of match quality, and it's DEFINITELY not lacking in storytelling. Overall match quality was very high barring Cena/Theory and Omos/Lesnar. The stage was also the best ever, and the night 2 main event is incredible 2024 (so far): Wrestlemania 40 Reason: The ultimate culmination of a years-long story, and it really does feel like it. Just the two main event matches would be enough to put this here, but you had Rhea putting on an absolute barn burner, you had the culmination of the Damage CTRL storyline, Jade/Bianca/Naomi vs. Damage CTRL was a phenomenal showcase of Jade while also being a great match overall, Seth vs. Drew with the surprise cash-in from Damian Priest was great, the tag team ladder match was a classic. Just an overall great, fun show

Bit of honorable mentions to add: WrestleMania 28, TLC 2012, SummerSlam 2014, HIAC 2015, Backlash 2016, Royal Rumble 2016, BattleGround 2016, TLC 2016, Royal Rumble 2017, TLC 2017, Survivor Series 2017 (even if the ending SvR match isn’t that good), WrestleMania 35 even with the bloat, MITB 2019, Royal Rumble 2019, Elimination Chamber 2019, FastLane 2019, Extreme Rules 2019 (Not counting NXT stuff because a vast majority of TakeOvers would be on this list)

Looking back 2019 was a super grim ppv era 😢. Like Survivor Series 2019 wasn't the worst but honestly I think including NXT ruined it and the best match on there imo is Daniel Bryan vs The Fiend. For me the best main roster ppv of 2019 was either Summerslam 2019 or MITB 2019. Those are my favourite ppvs of that year. Also John Cena vs Daniel Bryan at Summerslam 2013 is my favourite match of that ppv

I would definitely argue that Battleground 2015 was the best PPV of 2015. My boys and I watched it on the Network, and it was great from start to finish, although Bray vs. Roman ran a bit too long imo and the main event finish could've been different. I firmly disagree with No Mercy for 2017. I didn't like that WWE wasted TWO big money matches that should've been built up to over time on a B-level PPV.

@@urbaindelva7869 On a side/backup channel of mine I posted a video called "Botchamania Ending - The WrestleMania of Terror" predicting Seth Rollins cash-in. The proof is the upload date, which was right before WrestleMania 31. It doesn't help that basically almost every match outcome was 100% predictable.
