you really need to get like 2-3 samples of each to check operational consistency - they're super cheap, everyone is grabbing these online like the Wish spike we had which followed the NUX spike we had... OMG ARE YOU AN INFLUENCER? STOP INFLUENCING ME lol you can't I got a Zoom B1X Four unit and it runs both my guitars and basses just dandy lol In fact, it's factory patch of "Peachy" sounds a lot like when you were getting "doomy" there. Plus volume pedal. Invaluable. Defaults to volume pedal on most factory patches where it's not used for expression; I think that's actually super cool default state for guitar processor boards like that.

You folks do know that these pedals, I'm told, are just rebranded versions of Nux/Kokko pedals, right? I can't find a direct Nux version but just look up the Kokko Booster.

The Nux model is discontinued as far as I can tell. Same as the Kokko. Sounds great to push a high-ish gain tube amp harder with bass at 11 o'clock, treble at 1 and gain at 10 o'clock. Past 12 o'clock on the gain it gets messy and distorts to much for my taste. Great sounding pedal, I own 2 of the Kokko Boost and need to get 2 more, 1 for backup and 1 on my other board :)

Great sounding pedal, I own 2 of the Kokko Boost and need to get 2 more, 1 for backup and 1 on my other board :) I think I read somewhere a year back the Nux was a clone of the MXR micro amp+ circuit, can anyone confirm??

I've got a Nu-x boost pedal (called a 'Lacerate') but it only has one knob on it -- volume. That's why I bought it, it's as dumb as you can get, but it does the job. And it was inexpensive (though double the price of these ones).

Wow, how hot ARE your pickups Trey? for a clean boost, this pedal must not have a lot of headroom? oh well for 25$ it might be fun to buy a bunch of these and a loop selector and maybe a splitter box and you could design your own distortion pedal without busting out the soldering iron or bread board.

Is there something up with your cameras? There's what looks like dead pixels in the sensors on both cams at certain points. Overheating sensors?

I noticed it too late, it’s the crop effect in Premiere that has a dumb glitch, it defaults with a 10% feather edge and it sometimes shows on the outer edge of the clip, really annoying. Thought I got it all but I missed one or two

It looks like it has the same problem the Kokko boosters have (cause they are made on the same PCBs): low drive settings still boosting signal quite a bit. The reason is that one resistor on a PCB has the wrong value, by changing it you can lower the gain it produces and make it real clean booster and even use it as a parametric EQ pedal (as I did with mine).

@@gavinfavelle7215 the R8 resistor. It is 10k originally and therefore produces too much gain. Use 75k or more to bring unity gain around 11-12 o'clock of a Drive knob. For unity gain at zero (7 o'clock) of a Drive knob use 47k!

@@alex-solo my comment is that it looks like you think knobs = parametric and sliders = graphic. Now the name graphic might have come from sliders making a graph, but the function of a graphic equalizer is a number of separate fixed frequency/bandwidth controls for each frequency. Parametric means that the frequency and bandwidth is adjustable, the common semi parametric not having the 3rd bandwidth Q control. So you are using the boost as a 2 band graphic equalizer, there is nothing parametric about it.

Tiny Jeff....the master of all things dirty. Also this pedal sounds kind of crappy, way too much mid/highs even at low levels. And please fir the love of god, never turn it all the way up again!
