I made my own GMT with a Japaness (not maleisian) NH34, 904L steel case & bracelet (with microadjust), sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, mother of pearl dial, for 150$. The other 450 for (not) having a "real" GMT, I spend on a vacation to Sicily with my wife. Oh, and it has 100m WR, and a screw down crown.

I mean, it is one of the premium Miyota Hi-Beat autos, that is a true GMT, as opposed to the NH34 office GMT, so it is quite a good movement.

If I’m not mistaken, the red thing on the crown isn’t unique, I think the Nomos diver has it too. I do appreciate it though and wish more brands did it.

That's awesome, really. I have the Tissot Chemin Des Tourelles GMT, which is also a true GMT that i bought new below that price, but still this, as a diver True GMT is not bad. I hope they're a start of more affordable True GMTs with that Miyota 9075 movement!

I wish a quickset/jumping hour hand was a more common feature on watches! I know some omega models have it, as does my citizen "the citizen," but I'm not familiar with many other offerings with this complication.

I remember MING did this independent jumping hour hand with their 17.09 models. Also using the GMT complication, but before the 9075 was available as a reasonably priced GMT movement. There was a problem that occurred with the hour-hand alignment resulting in lag. It may have been specific to the SW330 movement they used, but I wonder if the precision of the GMT-hand alignment and subtlety of it’s movement between the hours, leaves this model open to similar concerns?

I remember the Ming using a Sellita SW 330-? and after removing/ disabling the GMT movement specific parts resulting in the problem you mention. Unlike using a Seiko NH 35A as a no date movement results in the “ghost position” which is not a problem. The Ming problem I think resulted from having too many 330’s in inventory so they subbed it out for a 3 hander. Exactly like Chinese brands with too many Seiko NH 35-A’s in inventory. I own a Zelos Mako lll running the Miyota 9075 and I guess this is a long winded way of saying the 9075 is purpose built and mine is awesome. Great time and I thought I would have to spend Tudor 💰💰💰at least to get a True GMT. $629. 00 USD TT& L delivered. The most expensive run they made with the new 9075. I shared your trepidation about this new movement but it is running +5 sec.per day & it’s in rotation a lot. Blue, meteorite dial and a 48 click bi-directional bezel that aligns perfectly. I got #231 of #250 total and I was on the phone, credit card in hand. They lasted less than an hour. That’s the problem with Zelos. Good luck on your decision. I hope you have as good luck as I’ve had with my 9075, regardless of the watch you choose. GBU

man, that true-GMT is a really nice watch - both in its styling and abilities: i'm somewhat familiar with the Miyota 9-series movements and they are quality the 't' is silent in Foliot, BTW :)

If micro brands can make a traveler’s GMT with 200 meters water resistance that is only 12.5mm thick, makes you wonder why Tudor is approaching 15mm thick case.

Yes micro brand are con way to buy reasonable price but in generel they ere expensive for what you get,miyota or seiko nh35 is no super great mouvment,so we pay only for good looking but perhaps not for good quality,under 300$ its more decent over 500 or 600 or 1500 as a lot of micro brand its too expensive because you can find in better brand like tissot for exemple..and i am agree with the idea that expensive watch are for showing wat is your social position.
