We really wanted to explore New Orleans with our RV, so we drove 1000 miles south in the middle of a heat wave... mistakes were made.

I had a relative that lived in the French Quarter and I was in Pensacola Fl. so I spent a lot of time in New Orleans back in the 80's. Other than the cemetery, the farmers market and other great places in the Quarter, I was blown away to find a place on a side street that had 10s of Daiquiri pour handles in all the walls... pour your own...WOW... crazy times. One other time, some street dude dropped to my feet, poured something on my tennis shoes and then wanted $20.00 bucks to clean them. My wife made me pay him so I did not end up hurt or in jail :)

I live about an hour from NOLA, the crime is out of control there. The mayor and politicians in NOLA are so corrupt that my wife and I have no desire to there until the people of NOLA elect politicians that really care about the city and put an end to the corruption. I wouldn’t suggest any one to visit NOLA until this happens.

Preservation Hall has AMAZING jazz music in the French Quarter. I like jazz, but it's not my favorite. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could because it was so good. I learned the hard way to be careful where I stepped. The City didn't put covers over their water mains (4-6" diamter hole) and I stepped in it with open toed sandals trying to find where our Uber was supposed to pick us up. It was dark and I'm lucky I didn't break my ankle or toes. We stayed in the Drury Inn (hotel) that you drove by in your video. Glad you had a great time! Thanks for showing other areas of the city we didn't have time for!

It looks like you two can have a good time pretty much no matter where it is you end up. Be it in the middle of NO at the peak of summer heat, to the middle of nowhere in the badlands of South Dakota or the barren desert in Nevada or the frozen lakes and rivers of Wi or Mi, you two find something that will put you both in a happy and content mood. Also, it's good to see Aaron has pretty much fully recovered from the ankle thing, and is getting back into everything. Chris looks spectacular in that blue dress, and Louie is living a better and more active life than 90% of the rest of the dogs, or humans for that matter, around the world. Oh yeah, and while you two were walking around I noticed that Chris was walking like she had a sore back or hip. It might be from all the walking you two did in this video, or maybe since you're both suuuuper fit, when you exercise as often as you two have to, I'd imagine a sore muscle or two is a common thing too. Maybe I am just seeing something that wasn't there, but it looked like Chris was not as comfortable as she usually is when you two walk or even jog around. Is/was she alright?
@IreneIronTravels

Thank you for the kind words as always! I am almost 100% healed on the ankle, but it is still tight and I don't have the range of motion as I do on the other foot. Continued rehab! Chris does have a nagging hip thing... we thinks it's bursitis possibly.... It does get tight from over exercises and while driving!

For viewers thinking about camping at Fauburg - it’s not downtown, and you have to drive through one of the most dangerous parts of the city to get there. Fortunately, it’s not the easiest place to figure out how to get to. If Fauburg doesn’t provide 24/7 security, I’d stay at New Orleans RV Resort & Marina over New Orleans East.

Hellooooo Chris and Aaron! Oh boy…..Confucius say “No New Orleans in the summer”! Alec Baldwin on that old Saturday Night Live Christmas skit comes to mind “Schweaty [Parts]”. We had an awesome time in Mazatlan, but it was exactly like your New Orleans weather. We mastered visiting shops that had a/c…..or just went back to our hooch for the afternoon until the sunset. Interesting….I am sorry that you had to endure running out of lithium power. But, it was great to see what happens. Duhhhhh….the a/c will quit. Is it the solar controller that beeps on a low voltage alert? I saw that school campground by Montrose full the weekend that we returned to CO. I assume your friends were having another conference? I was going to stop by on the Monday…..but everybody had cleared out :-( Ughhhh….it really stinks about all of the non dog friendly places. Thank you to all of our irresponsible predecessors! Heather and I have mastered taking turns with 1 inside and 1 out with Remy. Safe travels! PS. I hope we can get a New Orleans trip in at some point soon. We spent a Halloween there the last time we were there; it was awesomely fun! PPSS: Hi Louie! PPPSSS: I saw it in Chris’s eye “ Honey….you are going to cool the trailer down, aren’t you???

Hey Alan! Glad to hear you had a fun time in Mazatlan! Should be fun to watch the progress as you drive by everyone in a while!

He does love his kennel and sleeps in there during the day when we are home….. just hates being away from us. We will slowly practice leaving him alone outside the kennel…. So Im very curious. Your battery bank is pretty substantial, and you are using two portable solar panels. How long would it take to charge back up to full from empty? Also, wondered what your thoughts were on adding generator power to the rv. Honda makes those small 2200's that you can bridge together and power a 30 amp.
@IreneIronTravels
@IreneIronTravels Жыл бұрын
Here is the overview of our system if you want to check it out RV Tour of Our Electrical System for Full Time RV Living | Solar, Lithium, & Inverter kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z5aqm7d40bG1d40.html We have 1200 watts on the roof and the RV came with a ZAMP port that can handle another 200 watts of portable. Our portable is only 90 watts and we just use it once in a while in situations like this. Our 1200 watts on the roof has put out about 6kw for a daily max. That’s about 500 ah back in to the 810 ah bank. So on solar it would take 2 days of full sun to charge! Our Victron inverter/charger is 120amps so it still takes about 8 hours to charge from shore power. I found a dual fuel 3500 watt gen that is about the same size as the 2500 watt gens and I’m going to review it shortly. amzn.to/3BSnO25
