@@phajthoj In the later years of the Vietnam war, the vast majority of servicemen were draftees (conscripts), poor kids from the country and inner cities while the wealthy went to college and pulled strings to stay home in other ways. Vietnam wasn't like previous conflicts where units trained together, joined the fight and left together when the job was done. Guys arrived alone, filled a pair of empty boots in a random unit, and left alone. They only cared about making it through their tour alive. Nothing else mattered. Drugs ran rampant and military standards went out the window in many areas. On top of that, even though they went against their will, they were treated like baby killers and rapists if they ever came home. It was a sad state of affairs.

One time my college professor said to a kid he caught texting during class, "This is not Nam, this is college, there are rules, so if you keep texting during class you'll be in a world of pain." I could hardly breathe cause I never laughed that hard in my life lol.

I love the subtle reveal that the gun really was loaded with bullets. He was fully willing to pop a guy in the dome over a bowling score.

I have a brilliant idea: I'm going to create cards with an image of Walter on one side yelling "OVER THE LINE!!!", and the quote "Am I the only one around here who gives a shit about the rules?!?" on the other side, and leave these cards on cars that have been horribly parked, more specifically, ones that are over the parking lines.

The best part of this scene is how he gives a whole speech that the show dog needs stress free loving environment or else it’s hair will fall out. He then proceeds to create the most stressful environment possible and completely freaks the dog out.

I think the funniest part about this scene is that later on Dude and Walter do end up going to the next round with Jesus, which means this very well could've won them the game. As well it means the league just didn't care that Walter almost shot Smokey over it.

Jeez, I'd hate to bowl against Walter Sobchak & accidentally step over the foul line. All I can say is "Thank God bowling alleys have electronic score keeping nowadays". I guess fouls are detected & marked on the electronic scoreboards, so hopefully Walter wouldn't pull a gun on me if I accidentally step over the line. I brought this moment up with a guy in the lane next to me when I went bowling last night & he knew what I was talking about.
