Intro:
So yeah…It's been a while. I'm sorry for not uploading so much. Can I be real with you all? Even though I'm literally not real. Lately, work is making me feel exhausted. I'm tired. So very tired. Like, just completely wiped out emotionally. I’m also finding it really hard to find motivation to make this stuff and I when I do, I don’t even think it’s any good. Have you ever felt like this? It turns out that these are all symptoms of burnout: emotional exhaustion, feeling negative or distant, and reduced performance. Burnout is a type of chronic work-related stress It’s primarily the result of poor management where employees are treated unfairly, are overloaded with work, have short deadlines, or poor communication with their boss. This can cause a lot of negative feelings such as being emotionally drained, unable to cope, frustration, numbness, negativity, unable to concentrate, and lacking creativity. It’s not a medical condition, but in 2019, the World Health Organization classified it as an occupational phenomenon and studies have shown that it can negatively affect your physical and mental health.

I've experienced a lot of burnout, being a student, all the stress about tests, exams, and big projects can be really bad. I recall one recent time, and I mean really recent, like in December recent, the night before a big math test, I had a huge breakdown of stress and anxiety, and got almost no sleep over it, it was so bad I actually felt my vanes pulsing. My eyes were bloodshot red in the morning. I was absolutely miserable during the day, especially during math class, it was horrible. I had a really bad 2021, a lot of family members died, so I was already going through greaving, and in addition the stress and anxiety of school. It was really bad.

No need to apologize for the lack of videos… It’s OK to get burnt out sometimes, Just please please please make sure you’re taking really good care of yourself and taking time for yourself. It’s important to have time for yourself and not overdo things. Anyways, I hope you’re doing well and staying as safe as you possibly can :-) also, two of my favorite KZfaqrs doing a video together is just the best thing ever!! It was my senior year of high school and I had several assignments on the same day and my English teacher told us that if we didn’t do all of our assignments the night before she would flunk us immediately, so I had absolutely no choice but to pull an all nighter. The next day I was so so very burnt out that I literally felt sick all School day, but I couldn’t go home because no one believed me and hold me just to tough it out… I felt so sick that it even just hurt to stand up and walk. That night when I got home from school I would not eat anything and I barely got any sleep that night.

i get that a lot actually. I'm studying film production and draw in my free time and have been at the brink of giving up by not having any motivation to continue several times already. Now i'm applying for a "forced internship" by my university and one recruiter wants especially passionate artists, a common trap set by companies to suck individuals out of any passion they have and work them to the bone, so be careful about that y'all

I've experienced it sometimes, one time it got so bad that I questioned my whole existence like "do I even matter?" Or "Why am I here?" Then I stopped and continued to be great and at that day I know now what's it like to be depressed, have y'all experienced it too? If y'all did here's a message: "don't believe I the bad thoughts you already have seen the bad thoughts look at the good thoughts, don't listen to the depression listen to the hope.

Rest well, my dude, make sure you don’t burn the candle on both ends. Don’t work yourself if you don’t feel happy with what you have, and if it means you have to space stuff out a bit more, or even take a break, then please do. Rest well, dude, and take care of yourself. And, if this does help, here’s a few tips I’ve learned for myself while being a college student. Number one: set your hours. For example, I don’t start working until after 9 am, so I know my brain is at the best peak, and keep working til dinner. If you set strict times for yourself, when you work and when you don’t, you feel better because then instead of working until you can’t, you work until the time is up. Find the best times for you, and work with those. Number two, napping. Naps can be some of the best things to do when you’re on your hourly lunch break. Even taking some time just to lay down and close your eyes helps; it helps your brain process what you’ve done and what you need to do, and leaves you feeling more refreshed. And number three, buffers. We all hate it when we wanna do something, but feel there isn’t enough time in the day. How I cope is by starting on it early; it leaves me more time to stick with my rest schedule, and I have more wiggle room, so I’m less likely to leave work feeling I didn’t get enough done.

Perfect timing. I think I've been going through mild burnout these few days, and I've learned that it indeed can take a long time to recover from, not just a weekend of rest. I've been having a negative outlook and little to no motivation toward work. But resting and taking time for the things I enjoy or help me relax has helped.

When I had massive burnout I asked my boss to switch to a 4 days/week 10 hour schedule for a couple weeks, so I could just have time to chill. I actually took that additional day on Wednesdays, so I'd only work 2 days in a row at any point. It worked very well.

We've been in a constant state of burnout since some time in 2020, and we haven't had a job since our mom told our newspaper distributor - without telling us - that we quit. We had to find out when we started asking where the papers we had to deliver were… And we were 20 at the time. We're now 35, turning 36 in the summer. So burnout isn't exclusive to working. Maybe we're just depressed…? We dunno… It seems more like burnout to us…

Hope you're doing okay, mate. Burnout can be a horrible thing, and I'm glad i've seen this video today, of all days. I'm currently experiencing burnout from a full time job and running a KZfaq channel. It can be difficult sometimes with 2 separate demands from 2 sets of people. I go back to work tomorrow as I've just been feeling terrible since Thursday and getting ill as well as losing all the positive thinking from then until today. It's included a complete loss of energy, headaches and just aches and pains overall from working on things constantly with no proper "me time" and it kinda sucks. However, I'm going to start the new day tomorrow and think positively again. I'm not sure what made me lose my "mojo" shall we say, but it's not something I want to happen again.

I find that the longer I stay with one job, the lower the bar gets for burnout. As time goes on, it takes less to burn me out, until eventually I just can't find any energy to put into the job at all. How long that takes depends on how much I liked the job when I first started, but even if I originally enjoyed it a lot that joy always gets sucked out of me. Right now I have an amazing boss who is very flexible with me and always prioritizes my needs above the job itself, but I still feel like I'm just going through the motions so that I can pay the next round of bills.

I work in ministry, and in doing that, it might as well be 24 hour workday. You’re always on call, there’s always somebody that needs you, and there’s always some sort of work to be done around the church. Honestly it was just coming clean with those that were around me and other leaders and letting them know where my head was at, thankfully obviously for where I’m at people are very understanding and care. After taking about a week off, I came back completely refreshed and ready to go, sometimes that’s all it really is, taking a step back!

I get it a lot but spread out across my different interests/commitments. School was just one big burn out lol. But how I structure my workflow now is I have my craft and sewing work in a spare room, and my computer in my bedroom. I game and design on the computer in my bedroom and when I begin to feel burn out I switch to the spare room and focus on my physical craft and vise versa. This works to not get sick of my surroundings or my projects. I’m trying to get into KZfaq but I felt really self conscious over my looks and I couldn’t stand to look at myself through the editing process. I messaged some friends and instead of immediately unleashing my vid onto the world immediately I’m going to send it to them, which is alot less daunting and I know they’ll be honest with me before I set it free. Tbh I haven’t touched the project since but hopefully I’ll edit it more soon and have the motivation to get it out there

I know I'm late but I would like to share my experience with burnout. I was a highschooler in my sophomore year, I had everything, great friends, decent looks, good grades, and I was (somewhat) well mentally...or at least I felt I was. I was doing alot of stuff this year specifically for JROTC. I never got time to just mellow out or just have me time, I was always busy and never really realized what was happening to me mentally. I didn't notice something was wrong until I started to feel more tired and sad. I thought I was just getting sick and moved on with it, however the next week I felt terrible, feeling like I was just something that didn't belong on the face of the earth. I felt like a burden to everyone around me and that I was dragging everyone down with me. My best friend at the time noticed and started talking to me, but I started getting toxic to her. She would worry so much for me and yet I would treat her like trash, but she stuck with me until I finally snapped. Two suicide attempts later after a verbal agreement that was painful for both of us we stopped being friends. My grades dropped, I started to drift away from my friends and I started to gain weight. Then covid hit and that didn't help my weight, however it did help me with my mind. I came to the conclusion that this happened because I was always working and not taking time for myself. I got help from a therapist and talked to my parents about it, and my Junior year starts for highschool and I feel alot better but still bad. Then senior year comes around and I am fully free from the shackles of depression and suicidal thoughts. I was not in shape but I started to work out and adjust my dietary habits, and I am still loosing weight and getting more athletic. I have friends again as well, some old friends but alot of new friends. My former best friend (who was now my Battalion Commander) and I (Battalion Sergeant Major) fixed the mess that I made together and agreed that pettiness would not help our Battalion. And now we work together and are in the process of slowly rebuilding our friendship. Today as of writing this I am 2 months away from graduating highschool and enlisting into the United States Army. Burnout made me have a new outlook on life, a much clearer one. Moral of the story: Take time for yourself, don't over exceed your personal limits.

I'm a Chef in a busy pub, I left in 2019 and went back in 2021 and I've realised how unhealthy working in Hospitality is. It doesn't do me any favours mentally or physically and I feel like I have nothing to look forward to anymore. Late finishes also means I don't see my partner as much as I'd like (although we live together) and getting a regular routine is almost impossible. I've take up studying to get out of hospitality in the long term so I can have a career I enjoy & in the short time I try to go to the Gym and spend time with loved ones if I have the energy left. Your own personal health is THE single most important thing and I 100% agree with everything in this video! I totally understand taking time out to recharge & it's cool take James was on here too! Take it easy guys a high pressure job such as hospitality will not miss you if you leave.

I find that loss in motivation is a lot like back pain, in some cases you sort of just need to push through it while making sure you are not pushing in such a way or intensity that you end up making it worse, in those cases it may be just the ups and downs of life and hopefully they will eventually sort themselves out. however in some cases the act of pushing through it will in itself make it worse and will eventually lead to burnout if that is the cases (ideally before burnout) you take some time evaluate what you are doing in your worklife. A lot of people have the subconscious misconceptions that things like procrastination, loss of motivation, fatigue and/or stress exist in a vacuum and just happen but that's usually not the case, this things are caused by you feeling something and can generally only get overcome by addressing and tackling them

I experienced burn out before, this was when I was taking school, an acting performances and just not saying no. My "schedule" was just me finishing school, eat, play, practiced my lines and homework. Sometimes I even didn't get to finish my school work and that led to me hating one of the subjects and just getting more negative, but most of the time I was still able to pull through it and what i hadnt realised was that it was just building up. After the big performance, i was obviously tired but happy with what i did. Even if i had to do my performance twice in a day. I didn't feel sad unlike my other friends when we finished the performance (we were building this up for nearly a year with around 50 casts if i remembered correctly, so the performance was a few hours long). We also had in between performances to promote the show, and i had to play both acting and dancing. Most of the time i was tired, but not burnt out. But when covid hit my routine took a big hit, i wasnt able to cope with online learning, having to handle another small performance, an exam seperate from my school, and just me procastinating to play a bit of games. It slowly built up until there were noticable changes to my mood and performance. It got to the point where i wanted to end it all, and i went to a therapist to be diagnosed with symptoms of depression. Afterwhich i took some medication and went to meet the therapist and school counselor every so often. I told my parents one day that i was ok now that i didnt need to see the therapist anymore, i was partly right but one part of me just told myself that i was lying. I still had scars from it and it still appear every once and again, but i did slowly get better with more counsiling. But i also had to quit twice in the middle of practicing for the performance. One was when my homeroom teacher told me that i had to quit so i can focus more on myself and my studies, i broke down and criend because i really didnt want to quit but if i kept going it was really going to harm me. And the other was when i rejoined just to treat it like a job and try to hold on because no one else could play my role... but in the end i still broke and had to turn cold turkey. It is only lots of months did i slowly recover bit by bit from it. The hardrst part was trying to say no when you really liked what you did, but my mind couldn't keep it up and i was starting to hate it even though i actually liked it, and later felt nothing of it. There are obviously a lot of points i missed out because of personal reasons, and i have a poor memory. If you made it this far thanks for reading my rant about my experience, for me it never went away but just became smaller. I still wonder if i should go back to acting now that im in pre univerisity because there were other things i had to quit while studying right now. My advice, learn to say no and keep a schedule. I know im not perfect but that doesnt mean i dont feel negative(for the lack of a better word). Because i kept procastinating up till now. And these problems will never fadr away, but we must always try to keep our chin high because the alternative is not always what you really need (im talking about suicide)

I do writing as a side gig and burnout happens more than I'd like to admit. A lot of it stems from being tired of certain projects, or just not feeling like I can write the right things in the hopes of getting published. I combat this weekly by taking a day to do zero writing.

Burnout is a real pain. Between college and work I was on a 60/65 hour week for 2.5 months up until christmas. My tip is when I felt like I needed a break or a coffee I would make my coffee and have it outside and just give myself time to enjoy it. No phone and if thats too boring for you bring a friend to have the coffee outside with you so you can chat or catch up

First I were burned out. Then I got depression. I was forced to keep taking an education, even tho I still had depression. Long story short, I now have social angst, and may never get a “normal” life.... Please take care of your mental health. It’s so easy to break, but almost impossibel to repair.

I've experienced burnouts many times. I always used to get sick during school vacations, because the lid came off my pressure cooker. I've also had a major burnout caused by providing emotional support to duzens of people in a month, whilst being too oblivious of my own issues to perform self care. The old addage 'you can't help others, if you are bleeding out yourself' holds true. The problem is that people don't notice their artery being cut until they've bled themselves unconscious. I did this myself and I have no advice on how to avoid it, nor notice out occuring.

I think I may be going through burnout right now. Lots of things have been happening for the past 6 months and I've done very many things so it feels really overwhelming and the feeling is kind of constant.

About a year before I left my job in Logistics I had gotten so burned out and realized that I loved my home life but hated my work life. This pushed me to pursue my dream and I went back to school for nursing. I spent one more year in that job while getting my prerequisites out of the way. I now work as a Nurse Extern at the hospital I want to work at while I'm finishing up my last year of school and I absolutely love what I do.

I've experienced burnout so many times. Usually my tricks for it are long walks to clear my head, drawing random doodles, or playing Minecraft in peaceful mode, collecting items, with music on in the background to just relax. Maybe I'll even combine certain ones. But these always work for me, and usually within a week I'm ready to go.

I can completely relate, I'm on the ASD spectrum and burnouts are especially prevalent in people like me, hence "autistic burnout." Especially is bad as STEM major student in college trying deal with classes during a pandemic...

It's been a good well time since we saw our favorite 2d block man, well as he said your mental health is really important. To anyone who's reading this I don't want attention hogging but you should really make some "me time" if your really feeling stressed out. Be safe everyone!

I've experienced burnout before, but it helps to talk to others, going outside, talking lots of little breaks, and just doodling. Also, pat/blocko, take your time with these videos, there is absolutely no rush at all.

I know it has ben more than half a year now, but I hope YOU are doing well now. I work in the old man asilum and I had to witness over two dozens of those patients passing away under my hands. Yes, about 5 of them only because of Covid. Meanwhile I got Covid too and almost did not make it. At that time I felt completely burned out, I wanted to quit. But my colegues and even your videos helped me get over it.. Thank you for your videos and don't be nervous when you dont make your videos regularly. Your well beying is not worth it.

Fun fact, my depression got worse and so has my insomnia since I ended up taking 17 credit hours in my first year of college (going from homeschooled) and working 40 hours at a fast food restraunt, with a general manager is a vindictive a-hole. I only have 1 manager who gives me out in the back hole (drive through, where I take orders, collect money, more dishes than I'm supposed to given they didn't train our grill and sandwich makers properly (they're supposed to was their own crap. Not leave it for me.) And prepping bacon, cheese, mayonnaise you name it. As well as day shifts stuff most of the time where I'm a closer and they get to leave before all their stuff is done but we dont.) I haven't found a coping mechanism yet. I tried a therapist. It didn't work. I always feel so tired specially after work, but probably because I don't fall asleep till 3-5 am. I know this is not really the place to put this. But hey, maybe I'm not alone in this situation like I am with the people around me.

Life noggin you can take all the time you need. We care about you and really don’t want you to be hurt because of us. Burn out can really be bad and I know that from experience. Just you should be taking more breaks you send out videos so frequently and it satisfies many people but that can effect you really badly.
