Phenomenal results guys! Though I think my favorite part was seeing the smile on Grace's face as she showed off various parts of the refit. Considering everything she's been through (both of them really) you deserve some peace and some grace. All I can say is wow. Calico Skies looks fantastic both inside and out. What makes the transformation even more impressive is that you two did it while Grace was being treated for breast cancer. With the big increase in fuel capacity coupled with all the solar additions Calico Skies is now ready for anything.

(with a little help from friends) I can see in your smiles how happy you are with the final product. I hate those cliche sayings like "everything happens for a reason", and I'm not implying Grace's breast cancer happening was a good thing... but if it was happening anyway, the timing probably couldn't have been better... Sure it delayed a pacific crossing, but had it not happened now, I wonder just how many of the upgrades would not have gotten done. Now Grace's health seems to be headed in the right direction and Calico Skies isn't just ready to cross the pacific, she's ready to give you several more good years and crossings. The rundown of the refit really emphasizes that she's a whole new boat, from simple things like the canvas snap on covers for the shelving to multiple "game changer" upgrades! Super stoked for you 2.

I will look forward to your future videos! If you are ever back home in NY, I’d love to meet you both. I live in the City as a 21 yr survivor of stage 4 ovarian and a proud 81 yr old former sailor. I now feel as though I have “seen” the Sea of Cortez, Panama, etc. places I would never have visited. I started watching your channel after you and the Trautmans sailed to Maine, my favorite and 30 yr sailing community(Camden). If you remember the white home on the pt (Northeast), that was my base as my closest friend owned it. I sailed on a Tartan 46 for 30 years. My friend who owned the boat is still up there at age 93!
