As a telugu-speaking person, growing up listening to his songs (I am 46 now), his passing away is a personal loss to me, not because of his singing. He sang numerous songs which we can listen everyday. What i miss most is his talking. I don't find anyone in telugu cinema who talks so sweetly, who explains the history behind making of the song, who tells about the importance of language. It is that Balu I miss the most, more than the singer. I can't listen to him speak anymore😢

I will definitely say that his record is unbreakable. His contribution on music is unbeatable. I think he sang only limited songs in Bollywood, but he is leaving God of music in south indian industry. Really he is a legend like Lata mangeshkar ji.

You missed an extra special moment when the great R. D. Burman called him to Mumbai to sing "Aaja Aaja meri Jaan." Unfortunately, after Pancham's demise, this song was never picturised. Also, Roja also had a song by Hariharan, the alter version of "Roja janemaan."

I've been listening to the Great Legendary S.P Balu Sir from my childhood starting with the Legendary Dr. M.G.R song which Balu Sir sang Aayim Nilave Vaa his contribution to the Tamil movie industry is immense there's only one singer after Great and Legendary Rafisaab and Kishore Da and south Tamil Nadu singer T.M. Sounderajan Sir is my opinion is S.P.Balu Sir and he will always remain in our hearts

Balu sir is one of the most revered singers in Kannada film industry as is in most of the south Indian film industries. His voice will remain immortal through the ages to come. His Hindi songs are one of the most melodious ones, and, I believe he is the most impactful singers in the Hindi film industry only after Rafi sahab. My only regret with your narration was that, you hardly mentioned any of his greats in the Kannada film industry. He often used to say, in my next life I wish to be born in Karnataka as a Kannadiga!! A pure soul. Rest in peace sir!

S. P. Bala Sahab is absolutely right. Good, that he stopped singing for the industry that can't respect the talent. Though it was a loss for ppl like me who belong to North India and don't understand any South Indian language. He is my favorite since the day i heard him singing in ....Ek Duje ke Liye.... I was in 5 th or 6th grade. All his songs are so beautiful. Yesudas ji ans S. P ji, both are my favorite singers. I wish ppl could respect talent but Bollywood has become Gande logon ka jungle.I don't want to say much because everyone knows what I mean. South India still has those values for which we Indians are known.

Grapes are soure boss. Spb could not prove himself in Bollywood bkj of his "inbetween" voice quality and overfeel, artificial expressions and feel. Bollywood is having best in india in all aspects of music, films, its internationally aproved. Spb is a local, regional, his limits only up to south. Bollywood singers on top from day one till today. You must be knowing no one is Hindi language like kishore, rafi, asha, lata, mukesh, sonu, alka, arjeet, sukhvindar, sanu, shreya all these established in hindi bkj of their talent, being non hindi. They all from bengal, Maharastra, punjab and even singer like Shankar mahdvn from south. Its dream for all the singers, music directors nd even a tors to enter in Bollywood my friend. Just see their interviews kamal hsn, rajnikant, rehman, yesudas and spb.and many. Goodluck bro.

SPB has been one of the great singers and Lata Mangeshkar's doubt also right. In some of their duets I felt that she had to start singing at lower nodes... as SPB could sing from the lowest to the highest nodes very easily. His comment on the B'wood heroines wearing revealing dresses must be true in those days and it stands true even now.

एक बार १००% प्रतिशत सच और सही है कि सच्चाई हमेशा कड़वी होती है जो बाला सुब्रमण्यम ने हिरोइनों को कहने कि हिम्मत दिखाई। इसी का परिणाम है कि हिरोइनों ही नहीं ख़ुद सलमान खान भी इस सच्चाई को स्वीकार नहीं सके। ये ही तो फिल्म इंडस्ट्री की सही पहचान है, लाख सलाम ऐसे एस पी सुब्रमण्यम जैसे कलाकारों को जो सच में आईना दिखा गये इस बहुरूपिया लोगों को।
