the way that she couldve had this made into a movie if she just approached it differently. like, studios picking up random viral stories and turning them into movies is a thing that happens, but she had to make it something worth filming! if she had just leaned into the virality and tried to push the sort of 'mythos' surrounding this car a little further, there could've been something here. like, she couldve done research into her family + the families of those women, piecing together a narrative of people helping each other! or she couldve gone on a road trip in the car (assuming she still has it), learning how to maintain it and visiting locations she can tie back into her family's story. if she managed to build the story and maintain virality for long enough, while also occasionally expressing interest in a book/movie deal, someone wouldve taken the bait. maybe not a huge studio like A24, but she wouldve gotten *something.* instead, now nobody's gonna touch her story with a 10 foot pole. good job.

I don’t know how to at all, but I’ve been studying and creating short films for years now, and those have taken so long and so much effort and my newest short film is kind of bad! It takes time and you need to allow yourself to fail. You can’t just skip the ranks to a feature film. Sorry for going on a tangent, I’m just very passionate about filmmaking.

I think a movie about a car would be kinda cool. Like, the main character would actually be an inanimate car, and the whole movie would just be about exploring the lives of the people who owned the car at that time. And as soon as the car is sold or stolen, that person's story ends and the next begins. I think it would be an amazing way to show the passage of time through the lens of an object that doesn't care about you or your problems because it's JUST a car. Nothing more to add about the obvious psychosis of this lady though. And her wife is at fault too. Just shake her and tell her to STOP!

First I thought, kinda sad, sounds like she's surrounded by too many yes men, but realising she's a musician and a photographer, makes me question her attitude. I really get that anyone who gets a lot of positive attention online about something, it'll get into your brain and you start to think you can actually do it, even when you have barely any knowledge (it's actually a physiological effect, that when you hear something enough, you start to believe there might be truth to it. I think it's called the Illusory truth effect ). However if she's actually has already worked in creative industries, it's extremely rude to just think you can do something the people in the industry go to school for (and are also multiple different jobs). As a musician, you know about the hard work that goes into making and producing songs, managing gigs and marketing. So why would she think it wouldn't be the same for people who makes movies? I'm an animator, and have friends who work in the film industry and occasionally help out, so I know a little bit about the process of making a movie. I don't really care she wants to make a movie about her granddad's story (through in my opinion there is not a lot of meat on the story, why do I have the feeling she wanted to make part of the movie about herself?), but to think and decided 'and I'll also be the director and screenwriter, because I watched a lot of movies so now I can direct a movie' is egotistical and disrespectful. And I don't want to be rude, I have no idea how it is in her songs, but her storytelling in these shorts isn't really that great. It's kinda tedious and long winded, and the story line isn't really good, and that doesn't really bode well for a feature length movie screenplay. In general I noticed a lot of social media content for the last couple of years of people doing things that are usually done by professionals that took the professionals years to go to school to be taught and master a craft, and they decided to just wing it without schooling, 'I know better'. If I was her, I'd make a song about the story, and maybe made that movie myself as a short, or made it into a music clip. Or maybe make a documentary. Making those will also make you realise how much work actually goes into it, and if it's actually something you want to finish. You can't just randomly make a feature length film.

Instead of lying and being a snake, she could've just literally pitched her movie idea to Hallmark.

Only about 10% of my classes are actually watching films; the rest is learning techniques that are common in the past, present and future industry.
