It's really weird how people don't talk about this as much as we also had Zhongli drama back then and it kinda divert the community's attention to Zhongli instead. RIP Klee mains.

I was pretty pissed when they nerfed Childe’s boss fight during the Archon quest. Like, I went into that fight with Diluc, Kaeya, Barbara and Lisa in 2020. If I had to suffer so should y’all 🥲. I did that fight three to four times and Diluc was the last man standing and had 137 hp left after the fight. However it was a lot of fun. November 19, 2020 will always be remembered as a tragedy

One related area I’d like to see a video for is indirect nerfs and how effective they were, for example corrosion for Zhongli, unsuckable enemies for Venti, or enemies that constantly push you around and can vape / melt off you for Bennett

I keep hearing about the nerf to Xingqiu's rain swords but I never see footage of it that I almost just can't believe that the nerf occurred 😭 Edit: I know people didn't know about ICD in 1.0...I've been playing since 1.0 🧎 my point is that I just found it a bit difficult to find any footage of Xingqiu attacking anything that could've interacted with his rain swords' application like an abyss mage shield or an elemental boss but I might just not be looking hard enough

Keqing used to be able to fly places with her skill and even able to do multiple skill with one E, shame they nerf it. Wish Mihoyo is more like Warframe dev where they add mechanic based on user gameplay like seriously, yes Sumeru and to an extent Inazuma have mechanic that help with traveling between places outside of teleporting but running around Liyue and Mondstadt is pain without mount or just anything that help us to move faster. Warframe used to be a lot slower but the community keep trying to push the boundaries of parkour and movement ability so the dev just upgrade the game and add the mechanic into the moveset while the mechanic in sumeru is so stiff and kinda odd. Just give us mount and parkour geez

For me the biggest nerf is Hoyo making all new enemies Venti immune. The entire design of new enemies and floor 12 of the abyss had to be changed because of Venti Also my honorable mention: changing how Raiden's burst works so that it doesnt proc things like Beidou's burst. Raidou never made to the live server but they had to hot fix a few descriptions. So not a nerf per say but descriptions saying it worked existed on the live game, including the image describing the abyss blessing who came later on in the patch. Second honorable mention: Unlimited Blade Works Xingqiu, its was a legit bug fix

This might be only tangentially related but here's little history about raidou. It's technically the beta testers who asked for it. The way it originally works on the earlier beta is only her initial hit that does burst and the rest do na/ca damage. This makes eosf and her own skill buff less effective and probably ended up hurting her own personal damage. When mihoyo changed her burst to do all burst damage the leak community at first cheered for it because it sounded like a good change. And because no leaker bothered to re-record raidou team after this change. Raidou change goes unnoticed to everyone, even to a keen theorycrafters because it's the first characters to convert her na/ca to other form of damage. There's a funny artifacts of this change is if you see the abyss blessing for raiden patch it requires you to do na/ca damage after burst to gain some benefits which raiden can't use at all lmao

How about 1.4 removing snapshotting EM for transformative reactions(and by extension, additive reactions once 3.0 came out), would that be considered a big nerf?

As a barbara main since 1.0 (the 50 free pulls gave me Barbara c6). She actually had another huge nerf to her c6. Whenever she revives anyone she restores them to full health but depletes all their energy and cd stays the same (not sure). But back then in 1.1 with the childe and zhongli patch she used to be able to revive the character with their cd back to 0 and gave them all their energy back. I know this since i used childe back in the old spiral abyss and i would use his E, which lasts 32 seconds if you stay on him long enough and i would forcibly let him die so that barb can revive him back with his cd back to 0 and with his energy back up too. It was a huge nerf for sure and one that went under the radar.

I'm curious about one thing, the use of instructor on Bennett changes his normal rotation in sucrose national right? Cuz the normal way people do it was Bennett Q, XQ Q, XL E, Sucrose E(Guoba swirl), XL Q, XQ E/E(x2) but with instructor I've found myself using XQ before Bennett to trigger vape on Bennett and proc the instructor set

I played since week 1, but didnt really follow these nerfs. So this video actually taught me how Babara E works lol. Since I started using her in Fontaine in hyperbloom and noticed her generating lots of core when I used her skill but didnt think much of it.

Didn't they always hav an internal cap to how fast something can have an element applied to them. It's a really small nunber like every 0.3 or maybe 0.2 seconds. So his rain swords would simply apply hydo every wave one time anyway unless they landed at a really odd angles.

Does shatter cause an instance of damage like melt or vape does

I'm pretty sure that the pre 1.1 Xingqiu would have led to a similar Situation that Herrscher of the Void caused in Honkai Impact, which was that 1. The Abyss had to be remade, because together with the defense Shred from another Character, she obliterated every single abyss no matter the debuffs,enemys, you name it, it contained 2. It caused a Powercreep to Significantly speed up, because everything had to catch up to her damage at least to some degree Just to put into perspective how broken (not op, straight broken) she was, if we leave out the absolut mega whales who have what in Genshin would be considered C6R5, Herrscher of the Void can still be used to clear abyss stages quick enough, to save you from going down into a lower braket...nearly 4 YEARS of powercreep later

About the burning reaction, I think they did it to make burgeon more viable. If you had that much pyro, it would spend too much of hydro application and tone down the seed generation.

I started playing at the end of 2.4/start of 2.5 and this video was very interesting to me. I’m AR59 now, but I still didn’t know a lot of these nerfs. Kinda sad, since a lot of sounded really fun to play with. Btw, I have a question about the burning one. Could they have nerfed it because, burning being too powerful could eventually hurt the player?? I used a burning reaction as soon as I had Kazuha to swirl the pyro on burning grass. I would have a Kazuha, Fischl, Xangling, and another electro character a healer or hydro character to trigger vaporize. I would drop guoba to burn the grass and apply pyro to enemy’s then I’d have Fischl triggering overload and Kazuha would use his E (which I got to have an absurdly reduced cooldown) to repeatedly swirl electro and pyro. Can you not do that anymore?
