Coney watches a video on what seems to be the biggest sigma player ever in Smash Bros. history: Hanky Panky. Hanky Panky, although really good at Super Smash Bros. Melee, doesn't go out to many national events. He has had notable wins with some of the top 25 in the world, such as Duck, Westballz, and Scar, even though he was unknown for the time. Why didn't he go pro?

I'll never forget the time I went to a project m monthly at the cave when I was 13, and boss told me "you gotta use your shield, man" fast forward 4 or 5 years later, and I win my first tournament ever thanks boss :)

There was a guy like this at my smash ultimate locals who would destroy people with ganondorf/k rool/ wii fit/isabelle etc. Hed probably be top 100 if he took it seriously at all.

I love how Hanky Panky's "win rate" is just the highest ratio of wins/losses. Compared to the other players who have played nearly a thousand ranked matches, he's like Po who became the dragon warrior even though Tigress trained her entire life 😂

12:50 ok, but its fucking crazy that armada, someone who played internationally with all kinds of random players. was only second to a good player in a relatively small scene. Thats some insane consistency

Hanky Panky is basically a Tulpa An entire entity brought to life by the collective imagination of all those kids that lied about being friends with a guy so good that could easily beat everyone at melee. Also look how hard Scar breaks the 4th wall at 14:36 after getting manhandle by someone called Hanky Panky

I'm definitely that big fish who knows just how small his pond is. All my friends want me to start going to locals, but I've never gotten the courage to do it. Also, smash is my escape from the stress of normal life, I'd hate to start stressing about the thing I do specifically to relieve stress.

the difference is that this was completely unintentional and happened nearly 5 years before slide off was innovated as real tech. one of melees highest level defensive mechanics done completely accidentally, against scar on stream of all things

Some techniques that where widely unknown even by high level competirors now are performed consistently by the average bums on unranked (eu servers btw). I mean prince abu never told hanky about slide offs even after 10/100's hours of friendlys. (Or maybe they didn't knew because they are floaty mains but very unlikely)

Ok you won't believe how desperately I have been trying to find the name of this piece for like 2 months now but I FINALLY got it. The piece is named "La Donna È Mobile" from the Italian play Rigoletto. Luciano Pavarotti is the tenor famously known for singing this piece in the play.
