This is interesting! Is it because of the atmospheric pressure changes? I can tell when storms are coming because of my ears. I'm in the PNW, so almost never tornado activity, but I can often predict when the weather here is going to cause issues as it moves east.

No we can’t. At my house since last Saturday we’ve had 16” of Rain and across the state close to 40 tornadoes 🌪️. I told my wife let’s move to Montana lol.

I am in Oklahoma and it has been way worse in Kansas and Nebraska. Check your numbers. It’s not as bad in Oklahoma. We just get the first touchdowns because this is where the storm start.

MAX! I came up with an immediate warning system for all high wind situations! We could put towers a little ways outside towns that would have wind catchers at the top which would contain a siren that would only begin to whine when the wind gets above a certain velocity. It should also contain impact sensors that would set it off for say 3" plus hail. I don't care about money, take the idea. I just want people to have a guaranteed warning. Edit: it would also alert the NWS of the conditions. And they could be made super cheap as they'd be able to power themselves!

Same-same. They've got our roads back open from the Saturday tornado (except through the Chickasaw Ntl. Rec. Area) but our streams are already full. Any more rainfall and we're going to have some flooding to deal with along with the storm damage.

LOL. I hate storms. The upper Midwest and Great Lakes region has gotten unbelievably more wet and stormy since the 1970's (and summer temps actually flat to cooler). We worry about lack of fresh water like the desert worries about lack sunshine. Might be moving to a place where rain and storms are a treat, not a routine occurrence.
