The Bill was fantastic series. The day they started to introduced Soap Opera elements was the beginning of the end.

Another brilliant episode of The Bill. Love these early episodes. Written by Barry Appleton, who was a Police officer before he became a screenwriter.

Mr Leach (the bank manager) was played by the late John Woodnutt, who appeared in many Doctor Who episodes and he played Merlin & Mogdred in Knightmare.

He was also a senior police officer in LWT’s New Scotland Yard, which was a police drama around 10 years before The Bill started.

at 19:35 you can hear a familiar voice it is of English actor James Warrior who was also in Londons burning known as porky in season 2 episode 3 as a junior firefighter

UKTV Play has just removed The Bill S1-5. :-( It's now got many of the later ones. Luckily, I watched all of S1-3 and many of S4. Still, annoying that they're no longer there.

@Qasim Hussain I think 7 is the earliest Series. Shame that 1-6 went. Was great seeing Series 1 as you could see the very beginnings of the show.

@Qasim Hussain I thought that Galloway was a great character. I could barely remember him from when it was first shown and it was only earlier this year that I'd seen him again.
