It wouldn't have been as different as you and I would want. He would be like a lame duck for four years. Both sides against him. But he would have the ear of the nation! He would have veto power. No person should be worth a billion dollars or more. We have created a billionaire royalty worldwide. This is getting ridiculous. How much money does one person need? When 1 percent of the world population owns 99 percent of the world's resources, it is a big problem. The lack of a middle class is appalling.
@saveyourbacon6164
@saveyourbacon6164 2 ай бұрын
According to Bishop Milton Wright, all the money one needs is just enough to avoid being a burden on others. It is quite okay to have a great deal more than this, but it is definitely not okay for the wealthy to use their money and power through their lobbyists to pressure politicians into putting their interests front and center and demanding ever greater tax cuts and tax breaks. This is disgraceful behavior.

A 32 hour work week won't matter if the workload does not change! I'm a special education teacher on a salary. They say don't work past 5, just close your laptop, but the caseload of IEPs prevents that. I worked 66 hours last week and always over 40, usually at least 55. I know we need to put our foot down and say no more, but when we go out of compliance, it's on us. This will probably be my last year teaching.

Overtime started as a penalty. With the rise in the cost of healthcare and retirement being paid as straight time, it's cheaper to work two workers on overtime than to hire a third at straight time. If benefits were paid at time and a half, overtime would actually be a penalty. From there the 32 at 40 convention could begin. Along the way the term small business needs to be corrected. The idea of a small business in our minds does not compare with the terms definition of under 500 employees. There should be two more tiers of "small" businesses in there each with it's own protections.

@@doloresreynolds8145 you are naive. Once elected officials get in office they immediately re-draw voting districts to their favor. Term limits will get candidates back to the real purpose of running for office - helping their constituents. It will drop the money-grabbing power of career politicians and it won't be worth it to throw 5 million for a local seat.

Im tired of being physically sick. Doctors are stepping down, not helping patients. Especially middle aged women. I can't even get my insurance company to approve a scan. I can't get the medication I need due to the USA purges. The doctors say there is nothing to be done. As they go on vacation to one of their multiple homes. I have been sick for over ten years. I have multiple autoimmune diseases. But I have to wait until cancer appears before I can get a opioid for my pain. Even then it isn't even guaranteed. That's what privatization of our medical industry has caused. Misery, total misery. Thanks billionaire class for taking healthcare back to the dark ages again.

A convergence of troubling factors looms ominously over the China. From soaring inflation rates to potential bank collapses, severe droughts in the agricultural heartland, a looming recession, shortages ranging from food supplies to essential commodities like diesel fuel, heating oil, baby formula, and even available automobiles, alongside escalating living costs-all these elements seem to be aligning, painting a grim picture that could potentially culminate in a significant disaster by year-end, or even sooner.

I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. Given their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it is practically impossible for them to underperform. I have made over 1.5 million dollars working with an investment coach for more than two years.

THANKS Robert and Heather! I LIKE having Saturday morning coffee with you two! Oh... Kamala went and visited a clinic NOW? I am not impressed. I would have been impressed if she'd gone last year, the year before or the year before that. I agree with commenter @guymerritt4860 (who commented 1 hour ago and I couldn't say it better) : 'Why don't we dive into the fact that both parties are owned by the same companies and this country is nothing on the order of a democracy. And Sander's proposing a 32-hour work week is fine - but what do people do with 15-bucks an hour when the median price of a home is $400,000 and a new car is $45,000? The entire system is broken.' I would add though that less than 30% of registered voters are registered with EITHER corrupt party and 45% of USAmericans are considering themselves INDEPENDENTS! While I really do NOT like RFKjr's stance on Israel, I DO agree with him on a LOT and have followed his career for 40 years! he's no fly-by-night. And if he does pick Jesse for his running mate? THAT's the ticket I'm most likely to vote for! And pronunciation? Exactly like what it is: MAGGOT.

- The ban on TikTok by the House of Representatives reflects bipartisan concerns regarding Chinese ownership and the potential risks associated with American data falling into foreign hands. This move underscores broader anxieties about safeguarding privacy and maintaining the integrity of democratic processes, particularly in the context of elections. - Robert Reich's skepticism about the motives behind the TikTok ban revolves around the perceived interests of potential buyers, including right-wing billionaires. He questions whether these individuals would truly prioritize protecting privacy or preventing the spread of misinformation, given their own vested interests and track records. - Discussions surrounding Trump's criminal cases highlight the stakes involved, with Reich noting Trump's heightened desperation as legal proceedings unfold. Concerns center around potential delays, particularly if Trump's appointees in the Supreme Court indirectly influence decisions, raising questions about impartiality and the rule of law. - Poll results indicating the possibility of contestation in the event of a closely lost election reflect broader concerns about political polarization and distrust in electoral processes. The notion of street-level disputes underscores the charged atmosphere surrounding contemporary politics, where disputes often spill over from traditional arenas into public spaces. - Bernie Sanders' proposal for a shorter workweek resonates with ongoing debates about work-life balance and economic fairness. The idea of a 32-hour workweek aims to align wages more closely with productivity gains, addressing long-standing disparities that have persisted since the establishment of the 40-hour workweek in 1940. However, implementing such reforms faces significant political hurdles, given the partisan divide and resistance from entrenched interests.
