Dear subscriber’s thanks for being a part of this humble channel, on today’s edition. I present to you another bizarre case of cultural appropriation. But unlike other cases, this man took his time to really delve deep into the culture unlike any I have seen yet. Today we talk about a man that calls himself Iron Jacket, a man from Florida that fooled a lot of people.
I can’t stress enough the importance of knowing your culture, whatever it might be, to avoid getting fooled by misguided people that pray on ignorance and confuse you with pseudo-science. It’s 2021, we have a wealth of information available about our ancient ancestors, and we are backed by science and common sense.
We must call out and hold grifters accountable; we can’t stay quiet or participate in this new form of cultural genocide. You need to un
derstand that misinformation campaigns are being pushed by very unscrupulous people such as Tariq Nasheed and Dane Calloway and the rest of the wabo movement. I hope this video brings new light to this very disturbing trend happening mainly in the United States.

I’m surprised that nobody found suspect that a Shaman was wearing a Slavic belt. I know Swastika are also common to Native American artefacts but I doubt that they had identical sash belts as us. It’s fascinating, his loincloth is made of a Ukrainian embroidery pattern , Etsy had sold out of the traditional patterns of “his” people 😂

I met a young woman from the Ukraine and she was wearing her embroidered clothing, and the embroidery was similar to my Huipil, which was made in Mexico. Similar sashes are also woven in Mexico. Maybe due to contact and trade long ago, who knows?

It's a music video. Visual art is expressive and never accurate or beautiful to some. Talking about a culture you are not a part of(cholo/chicano) makes u sound like an ignorant person that lacks culture. Wasn't the entire video written and produced by Prayers? This guy you are talking about is just an actor in it(and apparently unpaid, even when offered just to help out*). Sure he seems to be living his life is a style that has bits and pieces from Aztec, Mayans, as well as some North Americans tribes/groups but so what? excellent video. Just a few notes on your Nahuatl explanation. the embed of his so called name tepoz is derived from tepoztli' which means metal in general and not iron as we had no iron. in modern nahuatl as and embed it also can mean machine or any time of electronic device. As to huipilli hisistes s female garment men did not wear. he is attempting to translate his name as iron jacket. the -tzin suffix does not necessarily reference so called royalty. it is an honorific, reverential and or diminutive suffix. Which no Nahuatl speaker would use in reference to himself. great video. Also some Chichimecas did speak Nahuatl. in fact the Mexihcah claimed chichimeca ancestry as you stated.

The Mexicah were proud of Chichimeca descent while also using it as a reference point for their "improved" condition of having a land base. No Mexicah person would call themselves a Chichimeca because of the move away from nomadic living and towards a formed city-state idiom. However, as far as language is concerned, modern Chichimecas speak Oto-Manguean languages as far as I'm aware.

Cultural appropriation is bs. Everything is mixed. Even in the past when some people invade other ones, many things were adopted. Culture evolve. In south america cholo came from quechua "chulu", the word cholo is very common in Ecuador, Bolivia and Perú.

I'm not defending Owen Thomas Phillips (AKA Iron Jacket AKA Teyposweepeehl). His mom is white, he has blue eyes, but he says he doesn't know who his bio father is. Someone posted his ancestry report and on that report (don't know if it's real or not) shows 40% Native Americas - Mexico. There are also rumors that his white family in Florida were adoptive parents. Other people say that they've spoken to his mother and he just has two white Caucasian bio parents. But it wouldn't be the first time a mixup happened due to bio fathers different than expected. What he did wasn't right. He made up and appropriated a lot of stuff. Honestly I just want to know what the truth is at this point. I did a Google image search on the ancestry report. It's nowhere online. So it wasn't sniped from someone else's report. However if he is Native via a bio father, his father would be 80% or more Native. The stories about cousins in Chihuahua would have been substantiated by the ancestry report as Chihuahua was listed under the Native Americas section. Like I said I don't know if it's real, if it's his, if it's been falsified, if it's someone else's saliva sample - I don't know. But if he really is Native and he's been dragged like that, it would be a shame. Maybe we'll never know.

This was extremely informative. I ask though, could this possibly be turned into something positive for the cholo culture? If Mexicans can unite in prison and be a unit that is impenetrable, why couldn't this inticing lifestyle be revised and historical culture be implemented so that the unit as a whole can be stronger together? I see it as a kind of military unit for the Mexican people. I will add, I do not like the false information he is teaching, but with the truth being told I really like the connection between the past and now.

Aztecs is NOT synonymous with Mexican/Chicano. The Aztec is a pre-Colombian society and culture: before there was a Mexican republic. The Aztec died out. The few Mexicans that could have Aztec blood is 0.000001% at most. There are other indigenous societies in Mexico. Otherwise the Aztec Empire wouldn’t be called an empire. Also, though the majority of Mexicans are mestizo, not every Mexican is. There are those of full European descent (Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, etc), African, Asian? Middle Eastern, and Jew among other ethnicities.

The funniest thing about all this is all the gangster dummies that fell for this.
