I don't feel like he's underrated. Anyone who knows music a little should be able to tell he's badass. Black Crowes are underrated as a whole probably. They are my favorite. Everyone is always in the pocket together. They groove hard when they play live!

He is a very solid drummer... one of my favorites!

As a kid I noticed how Paul Rogers had found a groove to stay in - calling out the blues above the one chord - lines most often start high, & finish lower - and IMO Chris Robinson has covered that - plus he has the sound of the originator at a time of Jagge,r Daltrey etc and that was Mitch Ryder - a scalded tone but man, he spit out phrase

I moved out of the country and assumed this was the last show ever. My bro said he can clearly hear me in Rambler . Weld bean speculating about a tribute cover for Keith Richards on his Birthday two days earlier. Incredible Rambler Rich been holding that one inside a long time. Then that encore , the final encore. No one in the hall wanted it to end , least of the band. They left it on the stage ,for all time , it was empty the bull pen push it across the finish line right there in that magical hall. They tempted fate and got burned or got an offer or a sign but this was my last show. Seen Magpie and the hood ehhh. I’d see them two brothers but without that third brother keeping the beat it ain’t the Crowe’s.. Ringo’s good tonight, idint E? Thanks for the memories 10 years gone damn.

For sure, Luther Dickenson was a great addition for this tour. IMO Chris never lacked "presence" but Dickinson was purely technical excellence.

In my experience, neither Marc, Luther or Jackie EVER outplayed Rich. I love Marc and believe Young Rich and MFF were EASILY the best duo of the 90's. Luther made the band relevant again and Jackie could've added some great new songs if the timing would've been different. Audley's a badass, but didn't have a chance to record any originals with the band.

@@gui-texzan7477 my brother would agree but you are both incorrect. rich is definitely the leader the visionary & the conductor, but luther is among the best guitarist alive & i suspect if you asked rich, he would tell you the same

@@jimsari7792 Hey man - I just stumbled upon the comment. No argument on Luther's skills. I saw him with the Crowes and a few times with NMA. He's the real deal; IMO the third-best slide guitarist alive. (Derek and Jerry Douglas are arguably better players.)✌️

Rich drives the bus, he directs traffic, he plays the bottom of the neck like nobody's business. He's the setup man-for everyone, until it's time to take over, which he can do in spades, and then retreat. He's magical. It's not a contest--it's a band. The band. One of the best live bands I've seen. For 30 years. (ABB and any Warren Haynes ensemble are right there as well. -Crazy Horse there by default). Now it's the TTB turn. Jimmy you're right about one thing --the 2005-2010 explosion was as good as it ever got for these dudes.
