What school did you go to? I grew up in Hyde Park. We couldn't help but know who he was. Spent a lot of Summers in Washington Park, where his museum is.

Really? Who signed the papers of incorporation that officially brought Chicago into existence 30 years AFTER DuSable left? Sounds like black revision to me. Explain how it's not please . . . It will stand for a period of time maybe, but the fact is DuSable was gone for 30 years before the city was founded. He was the first to section of land in the Europoean style so in that sense he was the first here but he still didn't found anything but his trading post, then he left in 1800. The Americans came in 1803 after the "treaty of Saint Louis" and built the Fort. Kinzie, Hubbard and CLybourn came a decade ish later and are the signers of the papers of incorporation. THEY founded the city officially in 1832. Period! End of story. It's a matter of record and fact.
