Don't try to memorize. Try to understand the choices and bring a Basic Strategy Guide with you and refer to it when playing.

I was at a $10 blackjack table once. And I had only $10 First hand I had was a win. Then just kept going from there. I cashed out $900 and played for over 8 hours. I won’t forget that day. The whole casino practically knew me. They call me by my middle name Cruz. Some pit boss even kept telling me to try poker. Even the waitress knew me yet she wasn’t watching. Guys at the table and other dealers kept watching. Roulette dealers, other black dealers were watching, other pit bosses were watching, even other players were watching. But after that day. My attitude changed and I haven’t played blackjack for years. What I play now. I play slots. From time to time I play poker. Maybe one time I’ll play blackjack again. And in actual I hardly go to casinos. I have legit business and other investments. I actually don’t have a need to go Casino. I make way more then enough on my investments and business. I’d rather spend more time with my wife and children then chase for more money. Anyway I’ll upload a bit of my winnings on my channel just for show I don’t B.S.

Kudos for the Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you tried - Trentvorty Generate Links Theorem (do a google search)? It is a great one of a kind guide for making money with a clever roulette system minus the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my friend Sam finally got astronomical success with it.

I understand that if i have 12 and the dealer has 18 for example then i must hit. what if i hit and get 2 so i have now 14, do i have to hit again ( meaning still go by the basic strategy ? )

Yes, once you've hit, whatever your new total is, you would use the basic strategy and figure out what to do next. For example, if you have a 12 against the dealers 8 up card, then you would hit and get a 2 for a 14. Look up a 14 on the basic strategy card, and you'll see you need to hit so you hit and get a 2. Now you have 16. So you look up a 16 on the basic strategy card and see that you have to hit, so you hit and get a 4, therefore beating the dealer :) I hope that helped!

Yes, but that's the risk that makes this game fun. There is a chance that you could bust with a ten, however, you're assuming the dealer has a ten card under that 8 and you want to try and beat that supposed 18. Plus keep in mind that 2/3 of the deck is 9 and under.

You also have other players at the table and you should keep them in mind if you play together against the dealer in increases the entire tables chances of winning.

You say at 2:57 the edge is reduced to 0.5% in favor of the player? Don't you mean 0.5% in favor of the dealer? I believe it is only 0.5% in favor of the player using basic strategy and given the option of "early surrender".

Sorry! I should have been more clear about that in the video. When I said "That lowers the house edge to 0.5% in favor of the player" I was referring to when the player is using basic strategy on a table that offers surrender. My apologizes.

Thanks for the quick reply back, but I think there still is some confusion. The only time I have seen a +0.5% for the player using basic strategy is when "early" surrender is offered and not the more normal "late surrender". Late surrender only gives the player an advantage of 0.04% and still not enough to overcome the house's edge at ~0.5%.

you should always double down on a 10 or 11. cards valued at 10 are the most common in the deck (all faces and 10s.) if you have an 11 and hit a 10, you automatically get blackjack

Being able to read the dealer's hole card gives the player a 13% advantage over the house instead of a 0.5% disadvantage.

An exception for splitting 44's is when you are allowed to double down after split. If allowed you should split 4's vs. dealer 5 and 6. If double down after split is not allowed then do not split 4's.

It works best on a larger sample, ie 1,000, 10,000, 100,000, 1 million, 10 million...

+Anjali Kumar It's just about memorization and practice. Another thing that helps is when you are practicing dealing at home, practice the strategy at the same time.

Dealer doesn't HAVE TO KNOW the strategy The simplest response is a shoulder shrug and a smile . You could answer I don't know that's why I gave up playing and started dealing. and then smile and give a little chuckle. Or stall and say that's a tough one glad I'm on this side of the table. Someone else at the table will usually give an opinion if the person asks and the dealer doesn't have the answer. I've seen dealers in AC and Vegas who can barely speak enough English to ask where the bathroom is. so worrying about giving "advice" to a player during an audition if they ask is not something you should really worry about. Besides by the time you are ready to actually audition the basic strategy will be second nature to you
