Michael Oher was living on the streets when he was welcomed into the home of a conservative suburban family, but over time he matured into a talented athlete. This was such an authentically southern mom thing to do. I've heard many a southern woman hit me with "don't you dare lie to me" if I thought about telling them that I DID have food at home and that I was doing alright. Sandra Bullock was amazing in this movie

I lived in the same foster home for years. My mother (guardian) took great care of me and my siblings as well as 60+ other kids and still is to this day. My little brother is in football and basketball and doing amazing! But If my mother hadn't taken him in..I always think what he would've been through if he had just stayed for a few weeks and left. I was jealous cause I was the baby of my siblings but I was sure glad I had the chance of being his big sister

Sandra Bullock really did some beautiful acting in this movie. The plot was well written and put together. It was a bit of a tear jerker for me at the end. But aside from all that, Sandra is one lovely woman and skilled actress. I watch it every couple of years and never get tired of it. Well done, Movieclips!

for his performance Quinton Aaron should got the Oscar...brilliant , very emotional , heart warming, lovable character...at that time he was the perfect choice and this was the role of his life...he reminds me of my son, same look, same walk, same character, same personality...I cried every time when I saw the movie...I saw the movie in the past, but now when I saw it again and I saw the similarities between how Quinton play and my son... for me it's like I'm a part of this movie... good work Quinton Aaron. Same here LOL. I don't even know why. Some scenes are so hard to watch, eg the look of heartrending pain on his face when he went to his mom's place and didn't find her, but rather found an eviction notice.

That's the perfect portrayal of a southern mama right there. Had a lady like that when i lived in new orleans. She didn't have kids of her own, but everyone in the area knew her as Mama. And she took care of everybody.

I find the film a tad corny but it really is very heartwarming what they did for Michael. I think they saw right away what a nice guy he was and how someone who been through so much could have every reason to be bitter and angry yet Michael wasn't at all. I think they intended to help him find a place and get on his feet but quickly realizes his place was with them and he may not have been their blood but he was definitely their family.
