Travel to Nuristan, Afghanistan in 2024 and you will learn that the FORMERLY "Most Dangerous Place in Afghanistan" is no longer. After the Taliban took back Afghanistan in 2021, Nuristan opened up for tourists, though, because of the 16 hour drive from Kabul, most western tourists don't get to see this beautiful part of Afghanistan.
In this video I'll show you the treacherous road trip from Jalalabad to reach Parun, the capital of Nuristan. Along the way we experience many curious Nuristani people who were very happy to see a tourist... even an American!
The road trip is long and bumpy, but the scenery is surreal, with gorgeous snow covered mountains flanked by green fields and flowing rivers. This is the true rural Afghanistan experience!
Parun, Nuristan is the jumping off point for hiking, trekking, river rafting and just enjoying nature in a PEACEFUL setting. I hiked up to 3,000m and found a Hadj pilgrimage house overlooking the river. And with the call to prayer in the distance, this was a truly remarkable journey!

پارون، نورستان د پیدل سفر، تګ راتګ، سیند رافټینګ او یوازې په آرامه فضا کې د طبیعت څخه خوند اخیستو لپاره د کود کولو ځای دی. ما تر 3000 مترو پورې مزل وکړ او د سیند په اوږدو کې د حج زیارت کور مې وموند. او په فاصله کې د لمانځه اذان سره ، دا واقعیا د پام وړ سفر و!

Thanks! I'm One of the first I think. I have seen a few other KZfaqrs who have gone. The problem for most (besides the PERCEIVED danger) is the 16 hours of driving on rough roads from Kabul. Norestanis are the Indo - Iranian ethnic group of Afghanistan , living in very remote eastern regions of the country . They have blonde and blue eyes and they say that's how original settlers of the region looked like, they called themselves the Aryans and settled in Iranian plateaus and the greater Iran some 2 to 3 thousand years ago
