The execution of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's second wife is one of the most horrific stories of English History. Accused of adultery, treason and even incest, Anne was the victim of the king and Thomas Cromwell's plotting. She would be executed by beheading within the walls of the Tower of London, but what isn't as well known is the fact that 5 other men were executed for their role in this whole shambolic episode.
George Boleyn, Henry Norris, William Brereton, Mark Smeaton and Sir Francis Weston would be executed by beheading on Tower Hill on the 17th May 1536. All 5 of the men would be accused of adultery and treason with Queen Anne Boleyn, but they were never really guilty. They were simply murdered in cold blood with no proof of their crimes with the Queen. They would be killed days before the Queen, and would have to suffer the humiliation of being executed in public infront of a huge baying crowd.
In this video we tell the story of each 5 of these men who history has mostly forgotten. We look at who these 5 innocent men were, and what their crimes were. So join us today as we look at, 'The Boleyn Executions, The Men Accused of Sleeping With Henry VIII's Queen.'
