Maybe Roger was invited to be a Traveling Wilbury but turned it down, so they got Tom Petty instead.

it shocks me how many people have never heard of the byrds,,, iam 32 and the byrds are one of my favorites, along with the flying burrito brothers and gram parsons and people in there 60's say who is that? did they grow up in a bubble ?

the BYRDS can play any decade and they still have that stunning guitar sound ever. I have 6 guitars thought that was it at 66 but dam none of them are a Rickenbacker so .......

Adding one instrument - Roger's 7-string guitar - turns this outstanding band into a version of the Byrds could sound like in modern times.

See, when you aren't a prepackaged band and actually pay your dues you can play a hundred songs and actually back up other people without missing a beat and have enough confidence in yourself to let someone else have the spotlight.
