He wants to be the father he never had and wants Ryan to love him but he has no concept of what love actually is or fatherhood for that matter and I think that's sad. Him finnally dealing with his trauma next episode would help most be better parents and people but I'm sure he'll just push further into hit hate and fully burn the village that tortured him just to feel it's warmth

Giving yourself a lobotomy to get your rocks off, super healing regardless is not a smart idea at all. Anthony Starr as Homelander is just amazing on this show. The way he goes from nuts to normal and back with a subtle look. I kind of forgot how good he was since Season 3 was 2 years ago. I totally missed that part of Sage stabbing her head to dumb her down. Saw that bloody tool and didn’t think anything of it.

She hilariously validates every stereotype of black women who believe they are smarter than they are. I particularly love how they depict her as a Taco Bell eating dump truck with no morals or ethics, while she lectures the white guy about morals and ethics. Heaven forbid the ‘smartest person in the world’ be a healthy weight or believe in a moral code of any kind 😂. Hollywood has this weird view of intelligence, in that they think ethics and morals are for ‘normies’, and you see it in the work and lives.

1)Homelander isn't losing his pubic hair. He's picking out the grey ones because he doesn't dye them like the ones on his hair. 2)Supes can have children. Example Victoria Neumann. They just can't have naturally super-powered ones like Ryan. Only Homelander can do that.

I’m in love with the aspects of the show that parody real life. The little tik tok/ facebook lives they do. As well as the news segments. At one point it felt so 4th wall breaking when they mimicked scrolling on social media. Like the little snippets of first person scrolling on tik tok. So similar to the actual thing. Like you wanna say omg this is so stupid. The absurd audio clips you hear, but it’s so accurate to the irl experience of tik tok.

I think it's sad that they threw away the fantastic building of kimikos and frenchies relationship.. it was one of the grounding elements the show had... It was unnecessary and a little forced to have him jump in to bed with Colin... Also out of character... And make Frenchie look evil... Which is the opposite of his portrayal in 1-3.. he wasn't a good guy but wasn't evil.. sleeping with the guy after killing his family.

Literally, they’ve been setting up frenchie and kimiko the whole series, and then randomly that whole storyline is obliterated, I’ll stick to plot lines that have actually been developing for a while like a trains redemption arch

Homelander is the beacon of hope at this point, never have I seen a series take such a drastic turn for the worse since season 1. Game of Thrones comes close with it's final two seasons, but this still wins it.

I was thinking about this as well. Maybe because he was born in a test tube maybe the side effect of that is aging. Or he’s possibly developing a super condition.

That or it's because he was experimented on/had powers as a child so his body wasn't matured enough to accept all the side-effects or aspects of his powers, as well as an adult would

Antony Star, (homelander), has been making comments about how hes starting to feel too old to play a superhero... and hes obviously aging(very gracefully)... Aaannnd on top of that, Homelander wasnt the "big bad" in the end... Butcher was. They are clearly showing Homelander has some humanity left in him that is fighting to be seen... Maybe he will deal with that and aging as a HUMAN with mortality and reconcile with Ryan. With what they are doing, theres no way he gets his comic death... but i DO think they are setting it up for butcher to kill him.

@@spoons250there is 0 humanity in Homelander… I can almost guarantee he will not get a redemption arc & if he somehow does get one then that ruins the show completely. He has shown 0 compassion, love, or empathy for anyone in the series (besides Ryan KIND OF). Homelander is no where as deep as a character like Omni-man, he is just a shock villain who is written to be as insane and uncaring as possible

Superheroes are not sterile. There a a few example that supes had children like Viktoria or Translucent. That what is special about ryan is he was born with powers without getting V injected.

Nah they make it a big deal because Ryan is a natural born supe. Viktoria gave her child V also who knows both her and translucent child could be adopted but I think its more viewed on is that no supe can have a supe child they'd have to give them V while ryan was born a supe.

I think that Sage reaction to Homelander asking the future prez to out herself is making her realize that Homelander is actually not the sharpest tool and is probably starting to think about the necessity of some plan to get rid of him when the moment will come.

I don’t know if anyone else caught it but when you said the show was kind of making it seem like they were in a relationship for a while, they have a conversation at the end of season 3 where Kimiko and Frenchie agree the kiss was weird, and Kimiko says that Frenchie is more than that to her, they are family now (platonic). I think that happens in s3ep7 @<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="2322">38:42</a>.

The Black Noir is a solid Deadpool reference. When you look at his character at first he didn't speak at all, but now he won't shut up. It's a direct reference to the X Men Origins movie even down to him having two swords for weapons.

I mean we got introduce to the person that made him so evil in his past of course confronting her is going to cause him to reconcile with it more. Making it even more dramatic by him falling in love with his victim's family member. I've honestly enjoyed it makes me feel bad but also get mad at him with his shitty decisions very similar to s2 with lamp lighter. Also that rubber ducky scene when hes tripping was peak.

Great review! I'm wondering if they are going to use Sage in the ultimate demise of Homelander. By her having the power of Smartest person on earth, leads me to believe that in a perfect world, she would be smart enough to have foreshadowed the events leading up to her recruitment. Plus the events that are taking place while she is with them and the eventual disdane Homelander is going to develop with her. Seems like she should be playing super duper chess with them while they are thinking checkers. But hey, more than likely they will insert a fault in her storyline that will hinder her.

It's been interesting to watch with each successive season, the left's view of the right becoming more and more warped from reality. They're not even trying to be subtle about it anymore. "Critical Supes Theory"? Starliters being pure and virtuous, Homelanders being irredeemably evil and racist. I'm honestly surprised they didn't dye Homelander's hair orange for the last couple of seasons. I want to believe it's parody, but they take themselves so seriously.
