I love how the whole Brady family would always work together to achieve a common goal. Finding Carol's earrings, finding Jan's locket, finding Mike's sketches in the amusement park and getting them back in time, finding Tiger after he ran away...they always made such a great team.

Shortly before he died, Robert Reed was on a TV commercial and said, "Back on the Brady Bunch, every problem was solved in thirty minutes. That's a far cry from reality..." But of course, I can't remember what he was trying to sell.

I was born in 1962 so "The Brady Bunch" was an indelible part of my childhood. Every episode was a neat little life lesson. I can't imagine being a kid today. Every TV show today is some twisted shit with no redeeming qualities at all.

Absolutely I was born in 1963 and never missed an episode of the Brady Bunch and like you said every episode had a little life lesson . Respect, common sense, common courtesy, and you don’t see that in shows that they have today.

I've been watching a lot of these clips. I have to say, the show was very well done. You get drawn into the plots, you fall in love with the characters, and it's not fake.
@sha112355 жыл бұрын
I think that is what the appeal is. The show is generational. We all have these issues: Bullying, Dating, Sibling Rivalry, etc. And the characters, especially the kids, did seem real and not phony.
@anthonyrobertson70625 жыл бұрын
Yeah It's kind of cheesy and has simple plots, not too deep, and the kids acting is sometimes not good (in the early years that is), but somehow they all managed to pull it off and make it enjoyable to watch for a lot of people.

@Randall Johnson Greg was distracted by a car magazine when he was delivering blueprints on his bicycle. When the pack of cigarettes fell out of Greg's letterman's jacket he claimed they weren't his. Carol didn't get mad at him at all. She actually believed him and defended him when Tommy's mother accused Greg. Even Mike believed him when he told him what happened. And still Greg tried to solve the mystery of how the cigarettes got there. It turned out that he and Tommy got their jackets mixed up.

Does anyone know the name of Sherlock Holmes' trademark double billed cap? Should Peter's detective kit have included a pipe along with the cap?

To conform to the line in the theme song, a last ditch attempt to rhyme with "girls", Cindy always had to wear some kind of curls (or braids, because she is a Brady).

Carol made a mistake in my opinion. When I do The Laundry I always divide everything, The Whites that I do first, then the Beige and other light clothes then the dark stuff last. I'm sure if she looked and double checked she would have found the earrings. Over the years, folks have left everything from ID Cards, and even Money in Their Pants and ruin them.

Anyone else ever notice that they never showed this episode too often? Of all the BB episodes this is the one that I've honestly only seen two or three times. Strange.

When Carol told Cindy, "All right, Cindy. But you and I are having a long talk about this tomorrow", that (to my thought) would mean not only a very long talk, but also Cindy would be grounded. Like in the other S4 episode "The Not So Rose Colored Glasses", Cindy would have to get her bicycle taken away for two weeks. But then, early in the morning, Cindy would've sold her bicycle to pay for the new ear rings (from the jewelry store). Cindy would've taken Marcia with her to donate the bicycle, then to buy the new wedding ear rings from the jewelry store. (Of course, as for the new wedding anniversary ear rings, the new ones would not have been the same as the first ones.) Cindy would've said to Carol (her mother), "I do not have a bicycle anymore. I sold it to pay for the new ear rings". (That was like how Jan sold her bicycle to pay for the new wedding anniversary picture and the new photograph. That is, after she ran into the first picture and broke it when she ran into it with her bike --due to not wearing her glasses.) But then, the punishment wouldn't suffice. That next scene would be like the "Cindy version" of the "Not So Rose Colored Glasses" episode. (This time it was Cindy instead of Jan.)

Beaver Cleaver once took a family heirloom ring to school without permission and damaged it. His parents make him write a letter to his aunt confessing what he did. But after he finishes the letter, they tear it up and forgive him because composing the letter was punishment enough.

In the S3 episode "The Big Bet", Bobby was bossing Greg around. He asked Greg to shine his shoes, take out the trash, clean his bike, and make his bed. And Greg also let Bobby beat him at checkers. But when I got to the part about the "drive-in movies" with Greg and Rachel, here is what I think about it. Maybe Marcia should've taken Bobby's place and tagged along with Greg and Rachel. And Bobby would have stayed home. You want to know why? Because Marcia (at the movies) would not be doing these other "dangerous acts" (such as asking for more popcorn, then pizza). (Bobby should've stayed home with the rest of his siblings Peter, Jan, and Cindy.) Greg would take Marcia for two reasons. One, Rachel would've been appropriate for both Greg and Marcia's age for activities/collaborations like that (such as the drive-in movies). Greg and Marcia (in the "Brady Bunch" TV series) are in fact the oldest two kids. And two, Marcia would've always been well behaved.

@jacobchang7165 Greg didn't have a choice he had to take Bobby to the movies on the count of losing the bet to Bobby. I still maintain that Greg could have gotten out of it on a loop hole but meh.
@jacobchang716510 ай бұрын
But in the "Big Bet" episode, I would've played completely different if that had been the case. You see, Travis? Marcia should've tagged along with Greg and Rachel (and every outing thereafter). Because Bobby was a pain in the neck on both Greg and Rachel. As you can see, Travis Karnes, I was trying to make an "alternate ending" about the "Big Bet" episode. Just saying.

I remembering watching this as a child and thinking that the earring was costume jewellery and ugly like all of Mrs. Brady’s clothes, house and green dishes. Mrs. Brady is a right auld cow! Cindy apologises for one of her mom’s cheap earrings being eaten in the washer and mom’s reply, ‘Alright Cindy, but you and I are going to have a long talk about this tomorrow.’ A Cow she is!
