Joe was responsible for a pandemic-related, world-wide inflation problem, even though inflation was not as bad here as elsewhere and has been brought under control. Good points all the way around on your part. And thanks for bringing politics to the Brady Bunch, which is obviously the best place for it to be.

I had a car almost as big as this one. A 1979 Dodge Magnum. I used that car when going for my license. I almost got my license on the first try, but lost when I attempted to pararell park.

I love their 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Classic convertible. What a beautiful car - even for just a Chevrolet. As far as the music goes; was that Deodato? I like the music when they started to drive.

@@assgoblin99 Yep. It's just a Chevrolet. I much prefer the Pontiac Grandville convertible or the Buick Lesabre convertible of this year. Of course none are as good as the Ford LTD and Mercury Marquis convertibles. :)

At some point in the later episodes, they must have switched from Chrysler to Chevy as a sponsor, and used their cars. In the early episodes, Mike' s convertible and Carol's family station wagon were that year's Dodge and Plymouth models.

One of maybe only 5 scenes that I actually remember from when I was a kid watching the Brady Bunch series. The other scenes... the tiki curse, Peter's voice changing, Cindy being teased "baby talk, baby talk".

When this was filmed a brand new promotional top of the line 1974 caprice convertible after 50 years I hope it’s still around… rare then even rarer now probably the nicest looking year for the 71 thru 75 body style

The old 🥚 egg on the cone test,,, they’ll give anyone a drivers license. That funky groove tune threw Greg off his game. He cracked under all the pressure. If y’all gonna make an omelette, ya gotta crack some eggs. That car would be the world’s best parade car in that mint condition. 73 Caprice. Why did ladies stop wearing such lovely dresses?

As I recall most of the Brady cars were Dodges and Plymouths, for promotional consideration. They went from Chrysler to GM in the later seasons, I assume.

For those of you wondering why Greg is wearing a jacket, this episode aired on January 11, 1974, which means it was likely shot in late November of 1973 so it's possible that it was a little "chilly" outside (for LA...maybe lower to upper 50s). This scene was obviously shot on the Paramount Studios lot as there are various visual giveaways in this scene. There's a continuity error too. Watch at 4:12, there are no cars parked behind Mike Brady. At 4:15, there are two cars (one is a cream-colored wagon). Interestingly, Marcia hands Greg her new driver's licence and her vitals are typed on it. Hair: Blond. Eyes: Blue. Marcia's birth date was listed as 8-5-56 (her real birthday) and her height and weight are listed as 5'3" and 96lbs. Her address is 4222 Clinton Way, City (haha). The date on the license is Jan. 15, 1974 (even though this aired on Jan. 11, 1974).

In their podcasts, Barry and Chris point out a number of errors that took place, which they're now noticing as they watch episodes with an analytical eye. Writers, film editors and the production crew weren't all on the same page---sometimes accidentally.....and at other times intentionally to suit a particular storyline, avoid an expensive reshoot, or stay within time constraints.

Notice how times have changed? 1:16 "Anyone who knocks the egg off the pylon is a LOSER." See being called a loser as a kid when you didn't win was a character building thing! Nowadays it would be something like, "Anyone who knocks the egg off the pylon doesn't win / loses the match / comes in second."
