I would imagine if you loved all of Woolrichs work, that it must be difficult to see this as an adaption on the screen. But I am glad that you still enjoyed it! How different is the novel compared to the film?

@@thefilmclassic4210 The film for me is a little too much Truffaut and too 1960s to have much of Woolrich's original spirit, which was very much depression-era America. American noir does not really translate into French New Wave. There's also a French adaptation of Woolrich's Waltz Into Darkness, and Truffaut directed Shoot the Piano Player which was based on David Goodis's noir book Down There. As a side note, I think Tarantino took the premise of The Bride Wore Black for his Kill Bill films, but so far as I know he never gave Woolrich a credit.
