Also, you can barely find an actual 'stock car' at your Saturday night short track outside of the 4 banger divisions and even then they are heavily modified. The stock car argument is so tired. Nascar hasn't raced stock cars since the 70s.

I think the biggest help would be for each driver to have a spotter. I was looking at the car to my right as I came around the corner because we were so close together. Midway though the turn I saw the caution light about the same time I heard race control in my ear telling me there was a caution. By then it was too late. I looked up right as Kyle's car came down in front of me. A spotter who is focused on each driver and the field and who has a way to communicate with the driver would be rad. I'll be bringing one with me the next time.

A safety recommendation for the freedom factory: get an LED strip along the top of the outer wall facing in, when there's a yellow or red flag you can turn the lights on so every driver can see them immediately, from anywhere on the track. As you said in the video, the window nets need to be removable, but also, those seats need secured better. It should not be common place for racers to be ratchet strapping their seat to the roll cage to stop the seat brackets from folding. Hailey's seat was in the middle of her car after the accident. You are right, those crown vic's are very strong and safe cars, but you still need to make sure the racing "additions" that you are adding to the cars are not posing more safety risks. Thank you for listening to the fans and looks for ways to improve.

I've been racing for a long time, and I've been around racing for much, much longer. Man I think with the addition of the seats, you car prep is in a reasonable spot. You're right, the screwed in window nets gotta go. You NEED to be able to ditch them to get out. You might also think about adding a one piece diagonal cross in that main hoop, but I think ultimately you gotta start policing the driving. Racers will be racers, and a show needs to be a show, but we're walking that line I feel. Two thing to improve safety: 1. Window-Nets being able to be removed. You already talked about this so wont go into it much. 2. Padding around the roll cage. Most stock cars the driver are "locked" into their seat so they can't move around, were as your cars they seem to have alot of "wiggle" room with their shoulders, arms, legs and feet. Some adding around the roll cage so that a little less chance of injury(bruising and such) when they get into an accident.

I would remove all the "Glass" use Lexan front windows, remove all exterior mirrors (use an interior style nascar large mirror that stretches the entire top of the visor area. Remove all the common plastic bits that get trashed, headlights tail lights etc.., because all of that could be shrapnel during a wreck. I remember side swiping a pole at only 10 mph once, but because the way the mirror collapsed into the side window when it shattered it was like a bomb went off and all that glass went flying towards me and my face. I know you guys wear race gear and such, but everything helps. Plus it's faster clean up of the track. As far as the actual racing is concerned. Yes Kevin drove too aggressively, but look at our lord and savor Dale Sr. There is a reason why they called him the "Intimidator". That said,.. After being stuck behind that side-by-side battle for a while, trying to push one driver by another, being faster than them, trying to come out of the corner, I don't really see any ill attempt to wreck him. It was a small bump, Nick wasn't able to use the momentum to his advantage and after that, when he over-corrected, there was not much any of them could have done. You know I had expected even more wrecks than what happened. Being competitive and pushing the envelope can end up with crashes. I like Kevin and he owned up to his mistake right away. the good part is that no one was hurt. That speaks of good planning and decent safety gear. As your event grows everyone learns. Keep it up!

Def needs a full cage instead of just door bars, maybe something for the coolant so it doesn’t explode like it did on the one guy, fuel cells if they don’t already have them. Idk. Lot to be said about safety that is #1 priority in these kind of events. You don’t want blood on your hands!! But otherwise the whole event was amazing up until that point and I’m glad everybody was relatively okay. I saw a lot of “hardest hits of my career” videos though. Good luck to you Cleetus! Keep up the awesome work. I heard you get a shoutout from Greg Biffle on the Dale Jr Download. You can take a page from NASCARs book with situations like this and learn from every incident. The fact that everyone walked away unhurt meant the safety systems you already have in place did their job. But like you said that doesn't mean you can't make it better. Look at the damaged cars and see what worked and what didn't and figure out how they could be better from there

I have a lot of respect for Kevin at KSR. It says a lot about his character to admit to his mistake and throw himself to the wolves that quickly after an incident when everyone’s adrenaline is pumping. I just hope he doesn’t catch too much flak for all of this. Like you said, it’s a racing incident. These things happen.

for safety improvements, 1: safety nets must be able to be lowered. 2: battery and fuel tank being relocated into trunk, 3 : easy outside access to emergency power cutoff switch. 4: quick release steering wheels, (easier emergency exits). 5: all Burn able interior bits to removed to decrease chances of burn.

I did a ride along with the local P.D. in a Crown Vic and when we got a call in traffic that car didn't even feel the median when we drove over it and the same for the curb and sidewalk as we crossed over it too. They are beasts and what I see in service now is laughable. Lots of Chevy Tahoes upside down scraping the pavement. I hope you can find more Vics to continue your races. Take care, jack

Hey Garrett thanks to you and all the event personnel, including Robby's SST series, for the great weekend of ENTERTAINMENT! This was our second trip as we went to Indy also. Everyone should realize that entertainment was what the weekend was about. And thankfully the race turned out good in the end and the rest was a blast. There are a lot of good comments here to consider in making it safer. Bristol is a great track and thankfullly the walls were the Safer barriers. Items already mentioned include: 1) head and neck restraints 2) improve roll cage and seat mounting. I am sure everyone saw the inside of Hailie's car by now. 3) real window nets 4) fire supression system 5) Make sure everyone one is wearing qualified helmets, clothes, shoes, and gloves. 6) maybe not run Bristol ? what about North Wilkesboro? I hear they are back, but that is 5/8 mile.
