Just apply mate. Don't worry about getting fit before applying, you can get fit during your application process and at that point you'll have a more realistic idea of what standard you need to be at. Also, by applying you are giving yourself a sort of deadline to get fit by.

It's good to see a reservist doing KZfaq! I'm in the middle of trying to get in as a Port Operator/RLC at my local reserve unit. I'm currently waiting to get a blood test for sickle cell trace. Basically, I got medically deferred on 23ed November, as I've got Egyptian heritage. From what I've been told, the army has had recruits (mainly Africans) collapse and die during PT sessions. This sickle cell thing can cause organ failure. But on the positive note, I got 45 points on the cognitive test, compare to the 16 previously. And for my previous fitness tests I got, Med ball throw - 3.9m 1.2 mile run - 9.43 Mid thigh pull - 140KG I did try selection on October 2019, but got deferred on the team tasks, due to lack of confidence working as a team. But luckily, due to the covid restrictions, I don't have to worry about the teams tasks. Once the blood test is squared away, I will only need to go up for the fitness. Keep up the good work with your videos 🙂 I thinks it's about time more reservists start putting out KZfaq. Comparing from when I was trying to join the regulars a few years ago, to now joining to reserves, I think the reserves are under appreciated over the regulars.

A lot of young lads n lasses in this comment section. If you want to know about what’s happening with your application or what happens WHEN you apply. Contact your local unit! Recruiters both regular and reserve are more than happy to talk about what they do. It’s their bread and butter. She is absolutely right about GPs being a pain in the dick, then of course little problems that ‘pop-up’. My advice, as a recruiter, this new module system of training for reserves is amazing. Please get in touch with your recruitment team to ensure your application is getting the proper attention. The army will do as much as humanly possible for you. Absolutely cracking effort from this lass for documenting her early start in the process. But of course the training staff at AC are going to be harsh and effective, they need to know you have the resilience to deal with being harshly treated.

@@ChelsieAngeles I managed to get my initial report done in a couple of weeks but the eczema report took aaaaaages. Like they lost my email somehow and then needed me to resend it. Then they didn't understand what was meant to be filled in. I slightly lost the will to live. It was literally a sheet with eight yes/no questions in which all of them were no.

haha this was really entertaining. there was lots of times during this when i burst out lauging because of the situations you were in, and how i can relate to them. Im not sure if i will be doing this as i had a medical phone call where i was asked lots of medical questions, and i had online tests which were the same as the ones you described with the memory and maths. i have a phone interview tommorrow morining. i know you are joining as a reservist so it may be different to the regulars but how long was and is the process of joining for you? I cant seem to find anything on the website or from other videos. I only know that it can be different for everyone.

Hi I know this is an old video for you now but I had a question. Did you join initially as a reservist and then transfer to regular? How easy was it to transfer? I left the Army in 2016 and I'm looking to rejoin as a reservist with the thought process of maybe rejoining as a regular down the line.
@ChelsieAngeles
@ChelsieAngeles 2 ай бұрын
Hi, the transfer process depends on your level of experience and your trade. It can be as simple as an application form and an interview. But in other cases you may need to do phase 2 again. Overall, straightforward and very possible to do.

I’ve forgot to mention this on my triage phone call and am now extremely worried they won’t pass me for it. I don’t know whether to call them and tell them.
