Me and my grandad watched this together because he like me is interested in crime and war. He says that his uncle who he lived with at the time boarded up all the windows with wood he had painted black permanently and when it was black outs he made everyone sit under the table in the dark until lights where allowed back on and in that time theyd sit mostly in silence or praying some English songs idk. Also amazing video my grandad made me pause like 100 times to explain things like certain weapons or things he did as a child in the war and its so lovely cause hes quite old and ik he wont be around much longer and hes very quiet I haven’t seen him so talkative in years so this is amazing thank u sm

I love hearing stories from the older generations. Unfortunately I lost all my grandparents before I really learned to appreciate their stories. I always said "grandparents are wasted on children" I would give anything to have them back and listen to all their stories. My maternal grandmother passed recently, she was my best friend in the world and my biggest grief is that I didn't listen more. I did get her storybooks from school, she was born in 1924 so theres so much in there, but still not enough. Enjoy every second with your elders or one day you'll regret not listening more. I'm glad to read about your grandfather, you seem to spend time with him, keep it up, you will be so happy for every second 💜💜

Regardless of how you did in history class, the details you give of older crimes help set the scene, and are highly appreciated. There's overlap between history buffs and true crime buffs.
