I drove a Motorcoach for years on tours and ski trips Dave sounds like me, some of the same things. One tour for 3 weeks college students music department. One day they trashed the bus out and I stopped at rest area and told them clean the bus up witch had trash bags at every othe seat down the isle, but they wouldn't use them just threw it on the floor. Refused to move the bus till it was clean and let them know we would be late to next show if bus wasn't clean in 30 min. they thought I was kidding till I shut the bus off and started walking down the highway in front of the bus NO more air condition and we were in Texas by Tyler. I knew that there was a truck stop next exit and was heading for it when 2 guys came running up and told me they were cleaning up the bus and PLEASE come back and put tje AC back on. Bus was keep clean from that day on, leaders of the group made sure every day that the trash was picked up and every night I would sweep and mopped the floors. Next day everyone apologized and respect was given in both directions.

I'm married to a Dave. There is nobody more loyal, dependable, hard working and honest, than men like my husband. They don't care who you are, what class you come from, they give respect to people who have earned it. My parents had never been around a man like my husband, I mean out of all their son-in-laws, he's the only one to have ever gotten away with calling them Mom & Dad from the first day they met him. After 4 years together, which included 1 year of marriage, my dad shows up at our door and asks to speak to the both of us. He told my husband, that he never appreciated him the way he did that very day. He said "At least with you, if you have something to say, you will tell them to their face, not stab them in the back when they're not looking. Today, I not only understood who you were but finally appreciate you, the way you are and wish all my daughters had married someone like you." In my head, I was like finally dad gets it. I was well educated, my husband was the total opposite. My dad use to say "Can't you find anyone one campus to go out with"? I'd rather have a man like my dad, like my husband, then an educated man with no honor. We both became totally and completely disabled at young ages, me 36 and my husband 3 months later for a different reason, he was 43. In 19 yrs, taking care of someone who is bed ridden 95% of the time, he has never left my side or stop caring for me. That's what a true man looks like and I'm damn lucky I found one.
