Austin, I love that u said, "I married Joy, not my kids". That is very powerful & meaningful bcuz I think that's what determines a good/great marriage after the children r gone. Parents who don't think like that don't even like/want to interact with their spouse after the children r gone. Thank u for sharing that with us & hopefully parents out there will listen & learn something...

I wish I would have thought that way when I was married I gave everything up for the kids, then one day they grow up and leave and your left without knowing each other. When your in the moment you don't see it.

People say a lot of negative things but the fact that y’all are actually thinking about when the kids are gone at your age and season of life is very refreshing. Date night takes on many forms and y’all have figured that out too. Props you guys! Also thank god Austin will save us all from every bug etc 😂

i love the way tgey communicate w each other and think about not just the present moments busy w 3 kids, still manage to make time for each other & also tgat they think about their future and their commitment to remain best friends no matter what and tgat tgey married each other not their kids wish someone would have said that to me maybe i'd still be married & our kids better adjusted. 😢 joy & austin are both such active parents & ppl who live life to the fullest. they're a great couple and devoted to each other as well as their kids. ❤when they first started courting i wasn't sure but they've both matured so much & bring out the best in each other!! ty for sharing your lives w us!

Yep one day your wishing they would learn to crawl. Next time your wishing they would go to school, next wishing they could do everything themselves and once they do tour wishing they needed you for ever little thing again. A lot of people wish there childs life away so quickly, they forget to stop and enjoy each and every phase. Mostly due to being in the overwhelmed chaotic stages without much support. I wish it was easier to enjoy all the stages for many people unfortunately for some they don't have the support they need to better deal with the chaotic times. ❤

Joy, I've been watching you on tv for a long, long time. I've always liked you - you seem like such a genuine person. I'm so happy and proud of you to see that you're real and honest with your feelings - and Austin seems like he does the same. Saying out loud and discussing the hardships and challenges of raising children, feeling pain/crying openly (not in this episode, but I've seen you both do that before and it made me like you both even more), etc. It is such a healthy step forward to accept all that we feel, and even further, sharing it with each other and your audience too. You're making a world of difference for your children by showing them all the ways that it's ok to feel ❤ I really dislike the 'enjoy every minute' commentary people make - with the best of intentions - but it makes real moms - and aren't we all real moms?? feel badly, feel like we're doing something wrong - you can't and shouldn't enjoy every minute because we need to feel it all to be healthy, whole people. Feel the frustration, the sadness but relish the good stuff, and there's so much good stuff. I wish instead of saying enjoy every minute, people said enjoy what you can. When my kids were babies, they are 4 and 7 now, but it was the hardest season of my life. The older they get the more I'm able to enjoy more and more of my days with them. And I'm so glad I didn't try to enjoy every minute - it would have made me feel guilty and all sorts of feelings that would be even worse than just accepting that this is hard. I am probably 15 or so years older than you (I'm 39...eeek!), but I continue to admire the wife and mother you are, and the person you've always been but the grown up woman you're coming to be. You're just such a sweet soul. I hope that you continue to grow, learn from others different than yourself, expand your horizons and keep an open mind when it comes to growing/learning. Keep on keepin on! ❤

Those strider bikes are so great for young kids and their balance skills for riding a two wheeler when they are bigger. Such a great thing !! I love what Austin said he married Joy not his kids and he can't wait for the day for it to be just the two of them later in life, so sweet
@Quaker-tc8ue9 ай бұрын
It’s not sweet, and it will backfire on him.
@sarahwagner39099 ай бұрын
@Quaker-tc8ue why is that? Your spouse should be your best friend that is who you are spending your life with, the kids grow up move away start there own life, so why shouldn't he look forward to the day that he gets to see his children grow up start there life and then get that one on one time with his wife again?
@Quaker-tc8ue9 ай бұрын
You are rather clueless. A parent should always try to have a good relationship with their children, because what happens when that parent becomes incapacitated to the point they can no longer live independently? Having his attitude towards his children means that instead of caring for/about him, they will say, ‘you ignored me when i was growing up, so I’m going to ignore you.’ At this point in society, MANY grown children are having to consider either moving in with older parents or having the older parent live with them. His attitude, he could die alone/lonely, and he’ll have only himself to blame.@@sarahwagner3909
@beckyriege55729 ай бұрын
@@Quaker-tc8ue He is not ignoring them in any way. What, do you watch these videos with your eyes shut?? He is always holding them, hugging, kissing rocking them. He wakes them, plays with them, and tucks them into bed at night. He could not be a more hands on father! He said that jokingly about their lives after the kids are grown, because he and Joy will have more personal time together. Geez, go back to Quaking, and shake some common sense and perspective into your head!
@Quaker-tc8ue9 ай бұрын
Another one who is clueless. I’m reacting to the COMMENT, NOT THE VIDEO. Does bullying me about my channel name help you feel better about yourself? If you knew anything about Quakers, you’d know that they *seek truth*, something that you apparently can’t deal with. But please, continue to make yourself look a fool to strangers on the internet, you do it so well. @@beckyriege5572

While in the moment it seems like it will be forever till you’re empty nesters. Once you become one it’s hard. You don’t think it will be but you miss them so much when they move out. We camped a lot with our girls. We always went with a bunch of friends so we had our own little village when we went. Usually had to rent 4-5 camping lots but it was so much fun.
