in regards to the pet dinosaur discussion, when Lewis Dodgson was getting permission from Biosyn to have Dennis Nedry to steal the dinosaur embryos he mentioned the possibility of InGen producing miniature dinosaurs as household pets that would be engineered to only eat InGen brand pet food to make a point of how valuable dinosaurs could be. Though later in the novel, when Hammond and Wu are in Hammond's bungalow, John states he has no intention of doing so.
