You have this awesome combination of skill, humor, looks, production quality, and a very endearing slight awkwardness on-camera that's just super neat. You've definitely earned a sub. And mad respect to you for all the work you're putting in to restore this Bug and your gram's Ranger before that.

Hey Sarah... Saw in one of Vice Grip Garage's videos how they solved the hole location issue with bolts through the carpet. Basically a soft locate with something pointy, then make pointy thing hot and melt/push through. No fraying, perfect sizing.

Headliners were white from the factory in my experience. Family started buying bugs in 59. I've owned a 62 rag top, 63, 67, 70 with a 2180, 71 Super Beetle, and a 74 convertible. I'd like to build one more but health may not allow. You are doing an amazing job on Ragnar...and I love my shirt. You have the best auto related show. Keep it up, stay safe and get the glue out of your hair. It affected you singing.

Correct - all beetle headliners were white from the factory. Black is aftermarket only and makes the interior looks much smaller and dark.

You are by far my favorite car KZfaqr. Your projects are all interesting, I love your jokes and how much joy they clearly bring you, and you post so regularly that it means I never really have to wait for new content. Always makes me smile whenever you manage to fit "The Final Countdown" variation into a video. In this video, we got both a "Brazilian" joke, AND one about the carpet matching the drapes. Your sense of humor aligns with mine quite nicely. AND a Fallout reference too? Thank you for being so good at your job.

The interior of any vehicle is difficult at best and a skill, yes skill that is hard to master. People just don't realize the amount of skill and hands on practice it requires to do it right. I for one have not been able to master interior work, get it right and it looks great, get it wrong and it stands out. You have more guts than I do and it looks pretty good.

If you leave the headliner out flat in the hot sun it’ll become much more stretchy you don’t actually want it to stick to the sides you want it pulled tight most headliners look loose though but if you want it to be stretched tight put it out in the sun and don’t try and get it to stick to the sides of the roof on the inside

for tightening the drapes, just heat with an air gun in high temp not so much airflow, have a damp microfiber towel handy and a bucket of icy water, it will tighten up perfectly, just don't burn thru the vynil. Practice on a scrap piece first.

Hey Sarah, an easy way to make holes in carpets, take a tapered punch the size of the hole you need, heat it up almost red hot, then poke thru the piece you need to mount and thru the carpet. It will melt out a perfect hole, and best part, is it will be fused and won't fray

You are right about the glue...it gets EVERYWHERE! I used that glue when I re-did the arm rests on my wife's Honda CRV. When the headliner started falling down in my Accord, I just pined it back up with clear upholstery tacks. Yea, its "tacky", but I hate that glue so much!
