Aldo was robbed of the opportunity to fight champ aljo. If Aldo is to fight anyone. Cejudo. No question. I mean both lost to merab. Merab such a cheatcode and he’s alr proven champion tier. Until Sean beats both. Merab and aljo is technically an unbeatable combo if Dana had to resort to tossing them at each other

He has wins over #4 Chito #8 Rob Font #12 Jonathan Martinez and #15 Pedro Munhoz. Close losses to #1 Merab and #3 Petr. Why the hell should he fight #11 Cruz? Cruz has looked like absolute shit while Aldo is still beating young guns

We don’t need that, he has nothing but decisions against the lesser BWs and loses against merab, Yan, etc.. this is a weird bias move.. let him get his couple paychecks and retired again into the sunset. He had his time and if he wants to work a few fights before a title fight then maybe we’ll entertain it. But you’ve lost your mind if you think this is even a reasonable option.

Everyone keeps saying Martinez “ showed Aldo to much respect “ and although perhaps there may be some truth to that, I feel more so he just wasn’t expecting Aldo to still have that quick of hands and power. Literally during the first couple of exchanges Aldo caught him with a nice counter and it made Martinez back up and go on the defensive and it wasn’t till round three that he recovered and started connecting with Aldo until he just got countered and rocked again.

Since Conor, Aldo lost to Max, Volk, Yan, Merab, and Moraies by split decision. Pretty good list, but he still lost to those guys. He also beat Edgar, Vera, Font, Munhoz, Moicano, and Stephens. Also a good list. He was right there, just not at the tippy top. I’ll always watch Jose Aldo.
