The Casey Crew

2 ай бұрын

In this engaging dialogue, Gia Casey and her daughter, Madison, delve into a variety of topics, including Madison's aspirations in the realm of real estate, her romantic relationship, and the exceptional bond they share as mother and daughter. They also take a moment to ponder the significance of respect, appreciation, and the imparting of valuable life lessons in parent/child relationships. Gia, a firm believer in instilling gratitude and humility in her children, shares her parenting philosophy, while Madison expresses heartfelt gratitude for her mother's unwavering support and understanding. Throughout their conversation, Gia and Madison underscore the vital role of honesty and integrity, the importance of establishing boundaries when it comes to language, and the unique challenges presented by age gaps in relationships. For the email of the week, they offer insightful advice on nurturing a healthy parent-child dynamic and effectively handling instances of disrespectful behavior. Gia places particular emphasis on employing positive reinforcement and implementing appropriate consequences to instill within children a deep sense of respect and responsibility. Let’s talk about it…🗣️🗣️

So many of us crave this kind of relationship with our mother. I didn’t have it at all and have accepted I will never have it. My grandma and mom have the same strained dynamic. But, God! I’m so determined, I’m making it my life’s most important work, it will stop with me. The generational curse of terrible mother/daughter relationships will stop with me and my daughters 💪🏾

This is why it's Important to have your things together. WAY easier to have your kids get accepted to top schools when the parents have money to get them best tutors and schooling. I went to MIT and was pretty much the only person that came from a broke family. Often made me jealous how much easier they had it but this is what I want for my kids too

Envy! 😂 Madison, you’re in a relationship and it’s great that you two get along and it’s healthy, but it’s important for you to have a connection with the Self. Knowing yourself, having alone time, and never losing focus of your goals, interests, and purpose is important. You need to foster those things along with your relationship, because you are indeed an individual and it’s vital for women to be clear about who they are. From another women. ❤

My son is NYU as well and graduating too. He just got engaged so it’s great to see that your daughter is as mature and looking at you both as example I guess that’s the same thing my son did with my husband and myself. Also my daughter met you both at Hampton recently. Thank you for being so kind to her

OMGGGG!! I had to rewind when Envy comes from behind the couch at least 10x 😂😂😂😂 Now we need an episode with Envy and Logan (or even a double date one with Madison and Andrew 😊). I also will say/ask Gia, that I agree with you about spite. And I believe people reap what they sow. However, I have sometimes internally struggled with “who am I to say what someone does or does not deserve.” I think it’s different when the someone is your kids, but when you’re dating or with your friends, why is it my responsibility to be the judge on judgment day. If that makes sense. Would love to hear your thoughts! And lovedddd this episode. 12/10 🖤

One of my favorite episodes by far ❤ As someone in their 20’s (just like your daughter). I wasn’t the best kid growing up…but I related to her when it comes to doing right. My mother & I also built a relationship on trust, and honesty. Money can’t buy value, and ethics. So I appreciated hearing how you instilled those values in your children. Your daughter is beautiful…not just on the outside, but also on the inside. I’d love to have a friend like her. I can just tell she’s a beautiful spirit. May she continue to stay untainted, and on the right path in this world of uncertainty. Love to your family 🙏🏽

This was refreshing to watch. I was at work listening, then turned it off to watch on KZfaq. I was like, I definitely need to SEE this one. I admire your relationship and hope that even as a #BoyMom to a 10 and 1 1/2 year old that I can have something like this with them. I’m almost Gia’s age and still look up to her. You inspire me in every aspect to just do and want better. Love listening to/watching you and your family dynamic!! 💕

I know someone might watch this and be like “oh cmon …. Yall are not this damn close” But when She said she felt so bad everyone can’t have my mom I felt that I remember being a teenager/ young adult and witnessing my friends have these terrible relationships with their Mom I just could not relate…. Even a couple of them came to live with us… This type of relationship is possible It truly comes from respect both ways and stern rules and values

21:00 I've been through hell when my daughter was in her teenage years. Ive raised her to the best of my ability. However, I know she has been going through some issues and she couldnt come to me about it eventhough I initiate the "check in" conversations daily. Now she's 21, we've been more closer but those years of her being "not my daughter aka monster" was hell. We are now in the process of working on our relationship and I love what it is blossoming into ⚘️

I watched this podcast with my 17-year-old. When I first started listening to this podcast She was about 12 and I let her listen to a couple of podcasts where Madison was on. She was excited to see Madison as a grown-up. I met my husband three years ago and now we have three additional little kids (2 under 2 & a 9 year old) so I can actually relate to this family now. My goal in raising multiple children is for all of them to argue over who is the favorite. I want all my kids to think that they are the favorite. I learned that from Gia ❤

I love Gia Casey your parenting skills are on point ‼️‼️ I agree with everything you said. Kids need to work for it because the real world doesn't owe you anything. Your parents gave it to you and your parents can take it away‼️ The respect thing is BIG‼️ HONOR THY MOTHER AND FATHER THO YOUR DAYS SHALL BE LONG UPON THE EARTH‼️ I was taught as a child God is watching. I'm real BIG on respect the janitor the same way you respect the CEO‼️ As a child I was taught you never know someone's story about where they are in life. Don:t think you're better than because tables can turn and you too could be homeless, Great conversation and Gia your daughter is a very smart respectful young woman ♥️ Envy's pop up was hilarious 🤣🤣

Great point about talking to your kids about what job/careers will provide them the life they desire. Money isn’t the only factor, but it should definilty be considered when choosing a major. Too many people don’t think about how they are going to monetize their degree post graduation, that’s why there are so many people who finish college and are shocked to find out their 100k liberal arts degree is only getting them a job that pays 40-60k.
