So Limbus Company has the craziest, wildest cast out of any video game I've played, let alone gacha game. So I decided to make a tier list to determine how insane each of the characters are. Also in case you don't know what a Limbus Company is it's a game made by Project Moon.

@@GatoEpico dante's inferno spoilers .. .. so odysseus actually appears in the divine commedia and, due to dante's half understanding of the odyssey (it wasn't translated from greek to italian at the time), dante is under the impression odysseus was sort of a jackass who let his hubris kill all his men (not far from the truth) and threw him in one of the lowest levels of hell as punishment for "taking the lives of others" and in the inferno, tells as much to odysseus (read:"you fucking idiot, you absolute moron") although good news is odysseus helps dante and vergil cross some treacherous seas(?) with his sailing experience so that's looking good for outis. i kinda expect a half turn around from outis because not only would it be a great parallel to odysseus, but also like a judas figure if we consider all the sinners akin to dante's disciples

And the development process of the engine of Mephistopheles also probably didn't go without a few "experiments" of testing out if it could properly extract enkephalin out of living people. So i guess she's still innocent even tho she made this abomination of a machine part while working for a shady company, secrets of which she isn't going to share with us very soon, huh. Goddam simp... Also, I don't think that Rodion did what she did purely out of wanting to be special, or as Dostoyevsky said "To prove that she(he) isn't a shivering beast, but a person of power." (Translation may be different, and my memory is a bit hazy about C&P, but that's how I remember this particular phrase) Unlike the original Rodion, she seemed to really have the want to help other people. Hell, her E.G.O is basically her guilt tripping about the fact that what she has done led to the death of all of these people, so she clearly regrets it.

@@Tsunul I mean, when your community is being oppressed by the IRS, who can blame you for taking up an axe and a cause? "Wanted to feel special" is more Rodion's self-actualization. She can't justify her actions, she can only explain them. By making herself the "one in the wrong," it ironically makes it easier to bear all the pain she caused. She regrets nothing but knows it was a bad move, people do dumb things when consumed by anger, and she believes she can't be forgiven just yet. If she thought her actions were just, the Rodion we see today would be no different from Kromer. By contrast Mersault willingly signing up with N Corp without even believing or contesting their philosophies, simply going through the motions, strikes me as *significantly* more unhinged. Going by his novel, he's the kind of man who could shoot someone dead five times over with his only thoughts being "the sun is bright."

still sad about the fact that the model of Yi Sang, which is also Yi-Sang, is very popular and respected poet in Korea... Yi Sang sounds a bit more artistic in Korean version because there is difference in language, but he still speaks like a nerd addicted in literature

Like I said in a previous comment, I live in hope for Project Moon to give us an entire chapter of just Ishmael angrily shouting out (mostly incorrect) whale facts. I also find it funny how the character who looks the most like a Disney princess is ironically the most "bland" person on the bus (excluding Mr. Salt).

I just want a scene in her chapter were she gets wasted, starts crying because she misses Queequeg and then loudly starts singing sea shanties. Ishmael, before the drink: "While this is a public bar, we should avoid standing out yet again. Maybe we will finish a mission without any of us embarrasing themself" Ishmael, literly a single glass of beer later: "SOON MAY THE WELLERMAN COME! TO BRING US SUGAR AND TEA AND RUM!...."

Although, knowing Project Moon, and the fact that Ishmael's backstory implies that she (and possibly Ahab) is the only survivor of the voyage, the gag might take a turn for the depressing. Which is why, if Project Moon ever decides to do it, we should milk that moment for every bit of meme potential from it while we can.

So you put Rodya in A tier for killing one person who arguably deserved it but you put faust in D tier completely ignoring the fact that she made a FLESH EATING BUS that runs on BRAIN JUICE AND MEAT. Faust is more sane than most but the person who made the limbussy can not be put lower than C the same place Rodya should be because murder is normal in the city and not really a big deal.

Fun part is that their Fixer Identities are the ones who become more normal. Yi-Sang becomes a mentor to many and is well liked in Seven, Outis now has her own place, Ryoshu is still Ryoshu, Gregor doesn't have cockroach arm and apparently wanting to have a break from work, Mersault isn't actually hard to communicate anymore but just stubborn and a blockhead while being a trainer to greenhorns, Hong Lu now realizes that people aren't rich like him, Don realizes what being a Fixer finally is and gets depressed, Heathcliff just wants to make ends meet and make a living while not having to handle anger management issues, Ishmael has a somewhat okay relationship with Heathcliff in the Shi Association, Sinclair is essentially a police patrol in Zwei and apparently friends with Don.

I have a sense Hong Lu isn't that sane man. I love me the tall femboy as much as anyone whose sexuality is within the homosexual spectrum, but like. The man praises the colors of people blowing up when he kills them and wonders how that feels. Rich boy upbringing doesn't put you in the Ryoshu school of murder appreciation. Mersault is in a weird -D tier. He is too sane to be sane. And too insane to be insane (still saner than Don tho). And I'm sorry Faust simps but like, the woman speaks in third person all the time. That's at least C tier insane.

Like, I am at least 70% sure Hong Lu's personality is just a mask he has kept on so long he forgot it was fabrication. He mentions that his relatives are kinda backstabby and I fear he is downplaying it. I am calling it now that Hong Lu is the heir of his family because every ambitious sibling he had is already dead by politics and everyone is fine with a seeming idiot on the throne since its a chance for them to grab more power. No doubt that Hong Lu is safer now in Limbus than he was back in his home estates

Idk how eng translation is made, but like 40% of Yi Sang popping into the conversation out of nowhere(ie, talking too much) is part of Korean-joke; his name sounds exactly the same to the word that is often used in conversation, so every time we use the word 이상 he thinks they are calling him But yeah he is more talkative than I expected him to, quite a surprise

So about the aging of the video: -Yi Sang wrote in his letters and ACTUAL THEATRE PLAY about his life, the crimes he and the others around him committed and his obsession with himself in another universe; -Mersault is actually the only one in the bus who can properly cook; -Ishamel`s sanity is directly proportional to her distance from the nearest boat or big body of water; -Dante seems to have gained sanity by losing his memories. He might slowly climb the rank if THAT moment from "Yield my flesh to claim their bones" is to be believed.

I will stand behind Don Quixote till the day I die. (Spoilers for all of LC and Library of Ruina) She could have prevented 90% of L Corps failures if she was there, simply by beating the fuck out of Ayin till he got his shit together, calmed down, and finished the Seed of Light Project. No Angela trauma, because he would have gotten his act together and got out of his depressive spiral. Distortions wouldn't have occured, because the light would have shone for the full 7 days, which also means no Angelica death, and a happy papa Roland. He and Argalia still hate each other, but slightly less now. Everyone gets a happy ending, all because a short queen would have been there to beat up a depressed simp.

You should very much know that is pretty much impossible. The seed of light couldn't be finished without some form of suffering the entire point of the meltdowns was for the sefirot to find answers and meaning in their suffering including A. Beating up A would have done nothing more than Roland's rampage did. Add to that Angela and Roland were bound to suffer at some point Ruina goes over how the suffering they induced on the city would one day come to bite them as it did for all in the city's cycle.

Edit: Making some MUCH NEEDED changes as I've had some time to think about this. Yes, Hell's Chicken made me realize a few things. Also came up with much better summaries. Yi Sang: A fucking weirdo. Faust: Simultaneously the smartest and dumbest person on the bus, but she looks nice in a sweater at least. Don Quixote: Is Don Quixote. Ryoshu: Is definitely into CBT. Mersault: Is actually a brick. Hong Lu: Doesn't even know that people die when they're killed. Heathcliff: Has no chill. Ishmael: The normal one. Rodion(my beloved): Team mom. Sinclair: Had burned through all his coping mechanism day one. Outis: Her favorite foods are boot leather and shoe polish. Gregor: Funny bug man.

Before ish' chapter drops, i have sth i noticed. She's not just reasonable, she also has the instinct to protect. In her IDs and ch4 she was first to jump in front of others with her shield up, scolding them for getting in danger or others for putting them in said danger. She does what she can to prevent mess and angers at wild cards that cause it. Considering that book ishmael drove entire crew to death just because of the obsession- and blamed the target of said obsession for all of the disaster that unfolded, there might be something heavy that interjects her stable, composed behaviour. It's a hopeless situatin where even witnessing how her own actions cause destruction, she pins the blame on a "monster" and that deepens her obsession [which led to said destruction] even more. A trauma that struck so deep, changed her life so much, that denial is one defensive mechanism preventing personallity from collapsing upon itself.

Good content. I feel like Rodion is more of a c+ tier or at least b-. She has regret and learned from it (right?). A playful rogue but doesn't shit talk people. Presented as selfish but i believe she also cares for others (will it grow as time goes on?). One of the better characters so far. My other take is that these 3 share the same spectrum\tier: Yi Sang, Meursault, Faust. It's hard to say anything in details. First two don't even talk that much. It's curious to see their stories for sure. If you google Yi Sang, it actually brings you to the wiki page of a real korean writer\poet. As for Meursault, wiki again: Meursault is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department and region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. And wine brand CHATEAU DE MEURSAULT, straight "drops of god" manga territory. Hong Lu's Roseate Desire is the best ego animation (imo).
